To clear the air regarding John's insane claims that we "snuck" into the event, Here are Ron and my activities.
Monday - in the evening Ron, Shelly, Jill, Chris and myself had dinner in the American Grill of the casino floor. We saw one contractor that we recognized from a previous event. Ron said hello to him and was gone in less than a minute since he was busy eating. We drove through the parking lot to see what equipment was there and took pictures of the line of equipment.
Tuesday - in the morning we went to the convention area. We didn't know where it was because there were no signs that we could see. As we were walking through the halls we heard what sounded like Nigel speaking. We talked to the Dodge guy in the hall for about 5 minutes. He invited us in to look at the trucks but we declined. Anyone can ask him, he was outside in the hall the entire time we were there. I walked down a hallway alongside the event and snapped a picture of the screen of Nigel's presentation through a fully open doorway and kept it to prove to John T that we did actually come to the casino and did not cause ANY kind of disruption of the event.
After that we went to Starbucks between the convention center and the casino and had coffee. This was about 100 yards away from the event. Another contractor saw us and spoke with us for about 10 minutes. During that time Jim Cooney and Michael Hinderliter walked by. It would have been near impossible to miss us since we were sitting in the two chairs nearest the open hallway.
After that we took off and spent the rest of the day having fun.
Wednesday - We came back and drove through the parking lot to see if any additional equipment had arrived. The Cyclone guy was driving his unit along the street. I asked him for a business card, but he did not have one. Then we drove up to the top of the public garage and saw they had moved some equipment and Jim's big pickup truck up there. We took some pictures and if I remember right Ron and I went back for lunch at the American Grill and ate with two people who were at the event. When we were walking through the casino we saw some vendor reps. As we passed Ron said, "How's the event going?" I was ahead of him so I didn't hear their response, but it was brief because none of us stopped walking and we were walking in the opposite direction of the vendor.
When we came out of the casino we saw them moving equipment towards the public parking garage. Robert was walking from the parking area to the garage and crossed right in front of us. We drove through the garage and saw that the top floor was partially blocked off so we assumed that was where they would be doing demos and left.
Thursday - We drove to the top floor of the casino and saw the aftermath of the demos and took pictures. We were going to go out through the parking area where they had their equipment stored the first day to see who was still here, but changed our mind and made a U-turn to go out to find a white pickup with California plates had followed us. Thinking that may be someone connected to Jim watching for our car we made another u-turn and snapped a picture of him. Then we left.
In total we were on the property maybe 2 1/2 hours including two meals and coffee and some time on the casino floor. After the five minutes or so on the first day we never walked past the event room again.
We didn't cause any disruptions, make any scenes, or anything of that nature. The only person we spoke to that we didn't know beforehand was the Dodge truck guy in the hall.
Keep in mind, this casino is less than three miles from my house. It literally takes minutes to get there. Ron flew in here from New Jersey and we wanted to to monitor what was going on to keep the lies and exaggerations about the event in check. That is why we asked the Dodge guy how many people were in the room on the first day. That is why we looked at what equipment was there. That is why we took pictures of the aftermath.
They had a public official from Nevada speaking at the event and barred Ron and me from attending. It took everything I had not to enter during that time as a citizen of the state of Nevada to monitor what kind of doubletalk Jim would be giving this guy. But I opted to deal with the aftermath of it rather than disrupt the event.
So regardless of what you hear about Ron and I "getting caught" at the event, or sneaking into the event, these are the facts. Our time there was minimal and quiet.
