It's budget time boys and girls!

We're passing out 35 lunch catering invites to the top companies this month. I think we might get 3 takers. If we get 35 we might be in a little trouble!

No worries.

That sounds like the good kind of trouble!

is it just an invite to cater in lunch for them?

He is inviting them. This way he will know the hot ones. I'm going to tell him about just getting them lunch. Surprise!!!

Some people are not as aggressive as you and I would be DJ

Copy that

So how do you handle the invites?

We play them all different, we often cater lunch as a surprise or dessert after lunch.

Cheese cakes have been working to get lists. Rfp

I don't do invites Ron. I don't entertain my clients more than lunch until I have a relationship built with them. Getting them isn't the problem for me its keeping them so once they are in they are taken care of very well. Next year I have a suite at the Nascar Nation Wide race that I will be taking my top ten clients to. This Wednesday I'm taking three clients out to dinner at Jeff Ruby's Steak House to try and close a 125k deal on top of the 25k they already do with us every year.

I guess I just take a different approach to it. In the end it's all about making it work for you! I may try out the invitation thing!

You have to keep in mind these are already selected possible customers. Targets!!

So lets ask this question?

What's the difference sending a post card or a piece of cheese cake?

Everyone sends some literature that gets thrown away.

Making a possible customer obligated gets you the appointment. Crazy out of the box promo!!!

I'm getting huge returns on sending lunch first and taking rfp after.

No sky box for me, I did that. Not knocking it just as you say , just isn't my style. I like giving good seats that a client can enjoy intimately with family or close friends. Four seats preferable. Our boxes are 5000 a game or more. Bigger market here. Bidwell thinks his stadium is gold.

I like 100 seats in the bleachers an having all that accept.

Don't get me wrong we have VIP and they get what ever they want. Most already have sky box.

Good stuff DJ , keep it up!

Good luck Tony!

Tony, you're not going to believe this. It's the 17th and we've not had a SINGLE taker on the lunch.

BUT we have gotten almost $100k in bids from companies that had been sitting on their heels. We are already quite a bit less expensive than our competitors and a bid usually means a pretty good chance of contracts.

I think there are more to come this month and we might bid out over $200k and maybe not even do a single lunch.

We're moving the lunch budget forward to next month if we don't have to use it and will be doing the same thing with the HVAC companies that currently don't use us for subcontracting next month.

If the same thing happens again we will roll it forward and use it for the Christmas party for our existing customers. Maybe some big prizes.

This is exciting.

If you have a little time when you are down here I can take you on a bid and show you what it's like.

That is good info Tony, thanks.

Glad to hear that you are getting more bids out there, that is always a good thing.

We got $4k signed, another $38k approved (to be started this month, waiting on an out of town signature.)and almost $40k awaiting approval but pretty certain.

Didn't do a single lunch.

The 44k has to be started this month and it's complicated.

We are still doing our monthly sales route but will push any other lunch promotions to next month.

I somehow missed this post earlier. Thats awesome Tony. We would love to go on a bid. I hope you guys have time for dinner one night. We will be in the afternoon of the 8th, coming home the 11th sometime. I would have come this week if I had known about the SEMA show.

If you have the time you can go on part of the sales route. Wednesday we will be wrapping that up for the month.

I don't have any bids lined up next week but I could take you around on some jobs being done.
