It was so hot today

Should I even ask? I have hear of cutting the back strap out with sawzall and frying it. I don't eat them. I just catch them for fun when the bass are not biting. I always throw them back.
 
How do they taste, Scottgun?
 
Its been 100 + in Richland,MS for about a week now.. I went to starkville Tues to clean some concrete and a couple of small buildings.. and 2 vent hoods .. The heat index was 109 +....... I brought a cooler full of Water and tons of Ice... Nothing like water...I also have a couple of daytime jobs this weekend .. I am thinking about trying the Gatorade mix in my cooler I love the old fashion lemon lime gatorade.... Reminds me of the football days...
 
Scott, I agree. I refuse to eat gar. I don't care if it is white meat or if it taste like grouper. I have been catching them things and giving them to the "cane pole fisherman" on the bank all my life.
 
guy, you need to try a fishing shirt. 35/65 blend so chemicals wont stain or bleach them. Get the long sleeve kind. They also come with uv in the fabric. They have really saved my bacon on those 100 deg days on the water. You can get them from bass pro, cabellas, Academy outdoors etc. And they come in some cool colors.
 
I will not even wear one of those fishing shirts fishing. I gave all of mine away. Not only do they make me sweat worse but they stick to you when they get sweaty. I wear a long sleeve cotton white shirt when I am fishing and dri-fit shirts when I am working.

You MIGHT be a Red Neck if you eat Drum ?
They say all the worms in it, "gives it flavor" :eek:
 
Chris, I have hear of people eating small black drum. I have no desire to eat black drum at all. I have heard all the large one have worms. Too many other good fish to eat. Now red drum (redfish) I will eat that all day long.
