Inside the downstream injector

Not sure about one of our local shops, but the other one in town don't know jack squat about repairing these things! Thanks bro!!

I've wondered about these 0-rings as well. I think it was Ed Thompson who once mentioned using an o-ring with a smaller inside diameter to replace these when they start to stick. Haven't any idea what size the o-ring would be. But I see how a slightly smaller inside diameter would help alleviate the sticking. Wouldn't allow the ball to get shoved inside and stuck. So,..Ed,.if that was you,..and you're around,.what size 0-ring is it you use?

*I also started clipping the spring and that really helped with the sticking,.and didn't seem to hurt anything.

Nice video George,..I have about 4 injectors laying around,...I got tired of these GP High-Draws going bad so fast that I started working on them also last year,..I bought the screw in orifices or whatever they're called last year. Looking at an exploded view of the injector I see they call it a nozzle.

I got in the habit of just unsticking the ball before I even start the engine. But since I clipped the spring, I noticed that when I poke the ball it isn't very stuck.

*I used to buy new injectors,..but thy seem to stick in a shorter time than before. Like two weeks or two days even. Don't want to by a new injector every two weeks.

**Something else to maybe consider is this,..I think these are viton o-rings,..and guys like me who tend to DS decks with Na0H is just contributing to the problem. Viton doesn't rate well with Na0H. So,..I think I am contributing to the issue by running Na0H through the Viton o-ring and maybe degrading it and making it stick. Buna-N o-rings are actually a he better choice here.

Why can't they just make an o-ring to cover all the chemicals we use,Ha,Ha,..

Jeff O rings have inside and outside diameters. Try a good hardware store and they may have what you need

Good Video George
I can't be bothered fixing an injector. I buy 10 at the beginning of the year and change them out as needed. Its not worth my time trying to fix the things!

Yep. The amount saved and the time spent monkeying around, don't add up. Toss them.

Does it make any sence for two brand new injectors to get stuck every time i pull the trigger.

Could this be an unloader issue just pulsing too much pressure off the hop. My machine is a two man setup hydroteck 3600/8.7gpm

No,.I like to "fix" stuff if I can, Ha,Ha,..I like to understand and build a better mousetrap if possible. The 3 minutes it took me to clip the spring did alot to alleviate the sticking. I do it with all of then now. And that is about the same time it takes to add to new couplers to the end of a new injector. Also,..if I can make a change in a wear part that makes a BIG difference,..I will do it.

I hear what you guys are saying about "No time to mess with or work on",..but,..a few minutes altering saves time,...when you consider the time in putting on new couplers and replacing them,..with less money spent. From my experience it is the sticking that made me replace them more than anything else. The injector I'm using now has been in place since about July,..and that's good for me. That's 4 months of use.

So the 3 minutes it takes to clip the spring,..(While filling up with water I might add),..was well worth the time.

None of us is so busy that we can't take time to make our business better. The time some of you spend peckering around on these boards could be used in fixing your injector issues,Ha,Ha,..

Had an issue with the ball sticking right after I changed my unloader. It was the initial blast when you pull the trigger that did it. My unloader needed a slight adjustment, and it hasn't done it since.
