Ike

Problem now is no power. They say to be prepared to not have power for 2-4 weeks and poss. Longer. I'm sleeping on my pool table in my garage just to get a nice breeze.

Oh yea, now we are being pounded again and preparing to flood again.

I just hope my 7k in jobs for this week aren't damaged. Would be a big week to lose.

Glad to hear you guys in TX are ok. Hope you get your power back on asap. I had to go without for 2 weeks in 04 hurricanes, you don't realise how valuable it is till you have to go without:( . Good luck and stay safe.

Good to see everyone is OK. You can always replace stuff. We are just now getting what's left over up here. Just rain and some wind. No power for weeks? Tough. We did it for a week from an ice storm and that was bad enough.

I have one generator for sale (new in box for my cost) for sale if anyone needs it.......email me quick or call 979-412-1294

Ike hit our area hard too. Trees down still no power but Entergy is hitting this nicely so far. I thought we'd be down for weeks but there are power co trucks everywhere. The problem might be in LA though 18 miles of problems through the swamp??

Anyway I'm on dial up just checking in. Waiting for power and now it liiks like water again -- high speed etc.

Just got power back this morning.
power went out 10pm Friday and came back shortly after landfall. Then Sunday around 4:00AM we were hit by heavy rain and wind and powewr went off again .... until this morning. Around 78hrs without, add curfew, no gas, no ice.
The only good thing around here is that the weather was really nice on us, temps around 70-76 and a nice breeze.

We had 280,000 people without power, and our crews had to come back from Texas, because they were down there to help. We had a dry hurricane...all wind, no rain. Blew my fence down...

Pressure washers have been on hold the past couple of days. Done nothing but sell and repair generators. Mostly portables, but had to go fix a couple of standbys, too. Now the knee jerk reaction to all this is people ordering standby units for "next time". $$$

At the peak I think we had 2.2 million without power. Now we're down to around 1.3 last I heard. We got power night before last around 9:30.

It doesnt look like we'll be getting any roof cleaning calls anytime soon though, as it is hard to find a roof that hasnt been damaged. Luckily we have about 7k in jobs that were lined up and did not sustain any damage, but after that....

The last few days we've been tarping peoples roofs and taking down storm shutters. Been making around $500/day doing that, but its not everyday and that wont pay the bills.

If thing dont pick up within a month I may have to do something else. Been thinking of going back over seas just to supplement our income for a little while, and let my wife fun things here. (she would do a better job anyways. lol) But heres hoping it doesnt come to that.

Glad to hear everyone else is ok though. And Carlos, you window cleaning should pick up dramatically. Did you ever get that job with the 809 french windows that I sent you?

Scott, cannot reach the guy, that area was hit pretty hard. I was in that area today and there's a lot of trees down, no power and no phones. There are 890 not 809 :D

If you cannot pay the bills with $500/day you're living la vida loca or I'm a poorer than I've imagined lol.

Window cleaning is going to boom, but in a couple of weeks I guess, lot of people that canceled this week alone, and I understand that people have other priorities... and I had to fire my employee, so is getting better :D

Glad you're ok, that's the only important thing.

Its only certain days that we've made any money. If it was 500 every day it would be no problema. We're not dying here, I just hope things are not slow for a long time. Ive been advertising to large companies, ie hotels apartments, etc, and those have started panning out, but not enough to give up residential.

Who knows.
