I was wondering what some are paying?

Thats the same Price I paid for A hot water Landa SGHW PW last year. The engine is shot on mine but the burner and coil rap are new(I have the $1500 reciepts on it). And of course this PW was a good write off. Hopefully I can get around to fixing it this year.

These are the areas cricket has service.

The closest I can come to that price on cell is 35.00 unlimited thru Iowa wireless.... Chem is what is killing me I think...

Very misleading ad by this Cricket company.

In Calif. they are in two cities up North only.

None in Southern CA.

Ok well I will stick with Verizon for now. Besides I am not to keen on signing any new contracts since if they do not live up to their end I am still stuck paying a cancellation charge.

Not me, I don't pay to cancel anything, that is rip off number one in my book of tricks on how to rip off consumers.

Jon

Most cells get you into contracts by offereing the best phones for free or low cost.

Paul B, the best phones are not so for me, a phone has to do three things "best".

1: Vibrate like crazy so I can tell when someone is calling.
2: Have better then average sound/volume controls.
3: Have a true long life battery.

The battery I have can be used and left on for 3 days and still not drain completely, all the new ones have much smaller and shorter life.

Now if Cricket would come down my way I would look into them.

phones

Jon, Im with you on that. It must be hell getting old and loosing your hearing. Its bad when someone else says ," Your phone is ringing" LOL

Only problem with that is I was born part deaf, or lost it when very young.

Either way it is hell aging but stay active, keep in good shape even if a few pounds over weight and you will do ok.

Oh keep your eyes in good shape too by practicing roving eye excercise:D

I feel for you Jon, as time goes on my hearing gets worse and right know I am always asking, could you repeat that...

I dont blame nobody but myself on this one!!!

Rock n roll

machine shop

concreat cutting machines

all could have be prevented....

as for the cell phone thing, I would have to add signal strength. I seem to lose most of my signal strength even when I am not traveling out of my "home calling area." I am with at&t and am not displeased with the service, just my particular model phone. I wanted to move to their new GSM network but I will have to sign a new 2 year contract and the offer they have now, 99.99 for unlimited calls, long distance included, is only good for the first year or two. I don't think I will be upgrading. I was thinking about moving to Nextel next year but I can't see paying 3-400 for a phone just because it has a two way radio on it, even though it is neat. Who knows what I will do. Cricket is available in Ohio, but only in one small area, not mine of course. Jon, I am with you on the vibrating feature, my hearing is fine but I'll be damned if you can hear a phone when your machine is running and you are only a few feet away from it. Plus sometimes it just feels good, he he.

IMO Sprint PCS has a very decent national coverage. First minute incoming is free. Long distance included (anytime).

My Nextel i85s sells for about $149 and is a rather feature packed phone, including the vibrating ringer and two way radio.........the only phone that is that expensive is the newest one with the color screen.

I don't need a color screen. I could do 150. I had Nextel when I lived in Philly, was pretty happy with it. The two way had good distance also. From Philly, I used to talk to people in Atlantic City all the time on the two way and the reception was great. Mike, I don't know who you use or your situation but I have a friend in South Philly who is a Nextel rep. and would probably be able to help you out with plans and phones and equipment when your contract is up. If interested let me know and I will give you his info.

I also had Sprint when I was in Fla. good there, but then I moved to Ohio and the coverage here was horrible. They said I needed a new phone and a new number. I got the number but had a little problem with buying a new phone, I feel they should have at least traded me. There was nothing wrong with my phone in Fla. so...I told them to shove it, cancel my contract and try to get the early cancelation fee, they didn't try.

If you have employees or deal with alot of contractors Nextel is the only way to go. Have had mine since they came out in this area. You canget your first phone real cheap, under $100, its when you go to replace it or upgrade it that they get you. Wanted to upgade last week to a newer phone, the absolute cheapest they had was over 200. Man i almost flipped.Needless to say i kept the old one.

The unlimited two way, free incoming calls, and free natoinwide long distance have saved me a ton of dough, hell i disconnected my home service for over 2 years til i needed it to get dsl internet.

The only downside to nextel is it is all digital,so when signal gets low no switching to analog.

They are scheduled to have nationwide 2 way service by mid 2003. I can't wait, imagine all the $ you could save then with unlimited 2 way.

nextel was nice, but the cost was high, for 80.00 dollars a month it began to be expensive, what are you guys paying around your area, I had the same feature as everyone else...
free incoming, unlimited 2-way, but the cost could kill ya...
watch your coverage also, some rual you would lose everything...

I also would be willing to sell my old nextel if anyone is interested, to me it is rather large for a phone...

I just gave up on Nextel and gave my 2 phones away for free to a friend of mine. I didn't like the way there phones would work when using them for calling. The two way was great but the phone calling sucked.

I since purchased 2 tiny Verizon cell phones that work ten times better and clearer then Nextel and I only pay $55/month for both and a ton of minutes whereas the nextels were costing me $100+/month for crap service.
