Houston!

My assessment of Houston.
1. I think that I made some new, good friends.
2. No one fell out of their seat from boredom as I spoke.
3. I also got to speak with a lot of guys that give me a tone of hope for the industry, and where we can go.
4. Found out that two guys, that have never even met before can speak together, and do it successfully, if there is not an ego involved. Phil and I literally first met 30 seconds before we presented together, and I am pretty sure it went really well.
5. Larry Hinckley survived his UAMCC induced, near cardiac arrest when he received his Dave Olsen award. If you don't know Dave, he was probably one of the finest people this industry has ever seen. Larry is probably one of the few people I know that is his equal.
6. A successful trade show cane be held, and 120+/- people can get together and have a great time talking shop
7. A stunning amount of people were amazed that when I spoke, I gave out my email and phone number for people to call me if they have any questions on some of the stuff I spoke on. ( okay, a few of them thought I was nuts).
8. The Houston area power washers have an excellent opportunity in cleaning up the exterior of the hotel. Really, for the prices they charge, it was a bit on the dirty side. It did make for great demos.
9. I was showing Blane Krugrud my tracking system, and caught a now former employee doing 59 in a 45. Immediate proof that it pays to share what you know. Too bad I could not access the cameras, too.
All in all, I think that everyone had a great time, that a lot of people learned a lot, and that many friendships were formed and revitalized.

Chris Apple said that after I ome he didn't feel like he needed to go to church this week. Besides, I hope that I am to honest to be either.

I want to thank Larry for making the first awards ceremony so rememberable.

Larry without a shadow of doubt deserved to receive the Dave Olson award.

Thanks Larry

When his name was announced, and I gave a LOT of clues as I was presenting it, I thought for a second that he was going to have a heart attack then and there. If you don't know Larry, and the man he is, it is your loss because you don't know one of the finest people I have ever met. This award was well deserved, and I was extremely honored an privileged to be able to present it to him.
