Hey, did anyone address the danger of the ball valve if you lost control of it in half open position. We use it a lot to switch from surface cleaner to wand. I also have ball valves at my two main pumps so I can remove injectors or switch hoses without shutting it down. Also, my hondas start easier with the ball valve at pump in the closed position. I guess the pressure allows the unloader to kick into bypass easier with the rigid plumbing compared the the hose which absorbs the pressure every time it is pulled.
 
We use the M-jet instead of an x-jet. The m-jet is the variable nozzle. I don't understand why anyone would still downstream over m-jet. Easily hit 3 stories from the ground.

A 0040 nozzle will be a 0 degree with a #40 orifice.

Works a lil slow Jan. and Feb., but we're busy prepping for spring. Between working on marketing materials and estimates for HOAs, the winter vacation is about over. How about you?
 
Thanks for the help with the nozzle, I might try that out.
We are actually staying pretty busy considering the weather. We have alot of regular maintenance cleaning we do through the winter and had alot of property managers wait until the last minute to try and get a couple large projects rolling so were trying to take care of them when the weather cooperates. I probably should make them hold off until spring because it cuts into your profits when you have shorter days to work and the guys arent exactly hauling ass when its cold. But at least there working
 
We had water freezing here yesterday. It ran into the parking lot and froze. We threw ice melt on it and it was all dry this morning. Do you guys have that happen often?

It happens here often but it hasn't been this cold in central Maryland since the blizzards we had in 2010. It is a bit ironic throwing salt down to melt the ice that wouldn't have been there if you hadn't been washing. These idiot caught on to that concept this morning after we already got and set up. But I wasn't leaving. So we're washing compactors in 9 degree weather.
 
I'd like to revisit the remote 12v shut off valve discussed in this thread. I'm thinking of getting a third unit rolling on some large townhome complex siding wash jobs, and I have a aod pump and compressor sitting around but it can't downstream and I don't want to walk back to the rig to switch over to rinse. Thought I could draw from a soap tank and a water tank at once when soaping and then hit a remote switch to shut off the soap line and rinse with just water.

I'm looking for the tools to set this up but I just come up with irrigation stuff and something called a 12v solenoid valve. Am I on the right track? Will these hold up to sh and soap?
 
I have a truck mount that I can adjust the pressure. What type of solution hose are you using and at what pressure?
