GP surface cleaner problem

Ive posted questions on another thread but dont wanna hijack it so Im starting this one. Sorry if this has been asked

I have a new (used 3 times) GP Hammerhead surface cleaner and it was working great until last night. The jets still spray water at the psi its set to but the arm isnt moving. Whats the deal?

I cleaned it up and tried to remove the arm but I dont wanna bend it...How can I take it apart without breaking it more?

Check to make sure none of the tips are clogged. I would remove them and run the unit for a min or to to flush out any debris. Make sure the nozzles are clean then reinstall them.

If this doesn't work I would bet there is a problem with the bearings. I believe they have a grease fitting on it. if it does grease it up a little and see if that helps. If you turn the arm and it feels stiff or grinds the swivel may need to be replaced. If it is as new (I think 1 year or less) the swivel should be covered under warranty. Contact the supplier you purchased it from and see about getting an rga on the swivel.

Thanks Paul, the jets are fine I think. They were spraying water fine it's just the arm isn't spinning. I'll contact the distributor and see what they say about the swivel.

My other problem is I can't get the arm off. I just don't wanna bend it

Last time I removed the bar I bent it. I've removed the spray bar on my turbo force TH40 surface cleaner and it was a pain and I end up bending it. Any suggestions?

Will it turn by hand? Remove the hose at the top and pour some vegetable oil down the swivel.

Some swivels need to get greased, pure silicone grease works great.

Yea it turns by hand fine...Ill remove the hose and try to grease it and see if that works

If the arm has been bent, then the angle of the nozzles are probably off. That will caust it not to spin. Re-bend it to get the nozzle at about a 15 degree angle, both in the opposite direction. That should get it moving again. Sounds like this is your problem.

Grease it!!!! Those HH SC'ers need greasing almost every day or so. Ask me how I know. Keep it greased and it will keep on working. Mine has been doing great for well over a year.

Now I'm lost!!! There is a zert fitting right on the base of the swivel (TOP) for a grease gun. Why ya taking the hose off?? :scratchhead:

How do you Know?
We have some of these as well.
Question: Is there water comming out of the little hole on the bottom of the swivel?? We had this problem and had to reset the swivel in the housing. Fixed the problem. Check and see, if so, just pull it all apart and re set it in its base housing. Good luck. If still having problems I would call the place you bought it from.

I was told by a couple of vendors that you need to grease that swivel before each use so it will last a while.

Just contacted the distributor and they are having me take out the housing from the base and sending it back to them to replace the seals and bearings...should be good as new by next week.

The manual for mine says to grease it every 30 hours and only one shot from the grease gun.
I always do 2 becuase if you over grease it, the grease will just find its way out. No harm.

I always stuff the grease untill it comes out the bottom. Been 2 years and still going strong.
