Gas Station Sales?

I'll send out rough scripts tomorrow for anyone that wants them. I actually just moved to a whole new area and will be hitting the streets again starting this next week. I will be using my tried and tested ways here in Washington. I will let you all know what the success rate is here. I would imagine it's going to be the same. Oh yeah, and I was getting about $350-$400 a station. They take me about 2 hours to complete using my surface cleaner by myself. I never did windows, but this year I am offering that service.

I would greatly appreciate a copy of that, as well. Thanks alot.

That a Great Job, but as you said its Taken a few Months to Get those Numbers.

Heres the Problem with Not Starting at the Top on These Types of Locations. Lower Management will Have the ability to higher, Bean Counters will alert the Upper Management about the Budget Increase.

If the upper Management Doesn't Know the Value and the reduced Liability they will cut the Spending from the Budget.

I hope this Doesn't Happen but all to often this did happen until I marched in and Just gave the One location with the terms and conditions they would consider the entire Region. If they Sent me Packing to Each Individual GM I at least has shown the Upper Management what I was worth. Also having there Blessing made the Individual Sales Fall Faster and Easier.

Remember the person who calls Asking for the Head of Household in tele marketing. They Usually get Dial Tone unless I feel Frisky and I waste there time On purpose Messing with them.

Not saying Scripts do not work because there are certainly a Bunch who will buy from them. I like my sales to not feel like Sales. I want to help them cure a Problem, resolve and issue they have. Helping them to me of more important than a Sale. Knowing what to talk about rather than "Hello I'm ron and here to sell you Pressure cleaning" Do you want to buy some?

GET ON THE VENDOR LIST AT ALL COST EVEN IF THE GM SAYS YOU DO NOT HAVE TO

Trust me Gas Stations are Very Un-reliable , there are some anomalies I have Owner who have Been on service for YEARS. Corporate owned are Often Difficult to KEEP because Management Changes Often.

I wash these TYPE OF LOCATIONS but I do not Seek Them.

I'd like a copy of the script also. Though I agree with Ron that it shouldn't be automatic/robotic/scripted when we're actually talking to people.
I just think it never hurts to see what other people are saying and maybe pick up a few lines or ideas and adapt them to suit our own personalities.

Scripts make you sounded scripted ..... Use bullet points to keep you on target.

That sounded scripted DJ. Lol.

I agree 100%. After a while you will be amazed at how many good ideas and catch phrases will come to mind as your pitch evolves.

Somebody mentioned spending 15 minutes explaining how the customer made the right decision after the sale......

After "yes"is the time to STFU and schedule the work as quickly as possible. Once the work is COMPLETE is the time to SHOW them and tell them how they made the right decision.

I can't tell you how many times I have talked myself out of a sale by not shutting up after "yes".

I have also lost a lot of new sales over the years by pissing around and thinking I could schedule new accounts out in the future giving them time to shop around, have a heart attack or any of the other thousands of things that can happen before the account began.

(BTW, the heart attack is a true story. I lost 600 locations from west Texas to California because of piddling around and not scheduling service quickly. I had to start over with the replacement and he used a relatives company.

I have almost gotten to the point where you can see fire coming off my feet once the words "go ahead" are spoken.

A phone call to the office usually means a contract is already in their inbox before I am out of the parking lot and other work is immediately moved around to get the new contract completed within 24-48 hrs after we get the signed contract back.

Once they are an established customer we don't need to worry about scheduling. But every minute that passes before the water comes out of the wand is a minute your competitors have to change their mind

I know you have talked about the idea of letting the customer know you are busy and your time is valuable, but they are not your customer till the water hits the ground.
