Gas prices = Jack up your prices?

ummmm... dude... have you been in a cave?

check out CNN or some other local news.. you'll find the following information..

1- A cat 4 'cane just wiped out much of what was formerly known as the Gulf Coast of the USA.
2- The 2 pipelines that supply the east coast of the US are operating at something around 25% of capacity.
3- All the refineries in the area are damaged/inop/shutdown
4- Ditto for the rigs offshore

NO I have been in NE Pennsylvania. Wich is not a cave but its friggin close. :p
My point was---> why are we paying so much when we just liberated a country full of the stuff.

Well, OPEC has alot more to do with the oil prices, and I wish people would get it through their heads that we didn't go to Iraq to profit from oil! We spent more money in the campaign than oil from Iraq will likely ever make...even with the prices rising!

There's a big thing going on here to not buy gas from the two largest companies, exxon and mobil, which have compined now anyway. When they aren't making any money they will have to drop there prices, then the other companies would eventually have to follow, but now they seem to be rationing and we have to go where ever we can get the stuff. It was and still is a good idea if enough people get in on it.

Oil availability isn't the real problem, oil refining capacity is.
Even if Bush opened the oil floodgates it wouldn't make a bit of difference.

There has not been a refinery built inside the US in the last 25 years, although consumption has been steadily increasing. Thanks to the extremist tree huggers for that one.. BTW, I don't want dirty air or water either, but reality is reality.. we need to make more with what we have.

The US has been at maximum production capacity for quite some time, so even if you park 50 oil tankers from Iraq right off the dock, they still can't make enough gasoline.
Also the EPA has mandated 'boutique' fuel blends for different areas based on their regional environmental conditions. For example, we here in Atlanta get a different blend of fuel than you buy in Pa.

When you add up all the different factors involved, you quickly see why we are paying more for gas.

As for the national don't buy gas day, you gotta be kidding..BWA HAHAHA...I got the e-mail and trashed it so fast it would make your head spin.. It's gotta be one of the the biggest loads of commie crap I've ever read.. I guess for liberal thinking folks, profit is a four letter word..

Ok So looks like were building some refineries now eh?
Must be some kind of EPA rueling that prevented new refineries from going up.
I bet there looking into all the resources that are untapped now.

The fuel blend thing is interesting. A less polluted fuel for heavier populated areas?
Sounds reasonable.

First I"ve heard of a national dont buy gas day.
Dont see any reason to punish the local guy because of a Force Of Nature.

A national don't buy gas day is rediculous. Whether you buy it tomorrow or the next day, you are still going to buy it. If Americans stay at home today to conserve gas they'll have to run twice as hard tomorrow to catch up.

It would be nice if you could snap your fingers and up goes a refinery. Most people don't want them in there back yard, I know I don't. The established refineries that have been closed would have to comply with hundreds of new regulations if they reopen, which would cost millions, if not billions. And the pump is the only place to make up the cost.

There is no quick fix to this, try looking into bicycle mounted electric pressure washers.

Have seen it at $3.79 per gallon here for gas.
Prices...yeah, they are gonna go up.

We have had a fuel sur-charge on since last year when gas topped $1.50 per gallon. Currently we have a 3.5% fuel sur-charge based on our fuel bill avg of the mid $2.40's. Here the past two week fuel has avg. the mid $2.80's. I generally raise the sur-charge a 1/4 of a % with each 10 cent movements and perform a qucik avg at the end of each month.

We received a quote from our supplies of plastic, (1.5 mil 12x200) two weeks ago at $18.00 a roll, in two weeks they will raise the price 10% and by mid September another 10%.

You need to adjust your prices to reflect such cost or your net profit will suffer.

Everything is going to go UP. We have an unbelievable amount of products made from petrolem. Fuel is just a minor player in this. Prices will have to be adjusted to maintain our profit. Someone told me once, " Im in business to make money not swap dollars".

Ive been gone for 10 days , had to check out for a while. When I left prices were 2.99 regular, 2.89 diesel. When I got back, 2.79 regular, 2.79 diesel. Maybe I should leave again.

Oh, by the way, went to Cabo San Lucas. Romancing my honey, fishing, snorkeling, walkin on the beach, more romance, more fishing ........
I need to do that about once every 6 months.

Prices coming down here somewhat, We are below 3 bucks a gallon.
Would be nice to see the old 2 smackers a gallon again.
Dont laugh so hard you may fall out of your chair and break your monitor.
