Gas prices = Jack up your prices?

Was wondering how the gas prices were effecting everyone.
I havent had to change much as far as billing goes.

However, it seems to be effecting my suppliers prices also.
If they continue to increase then I will have to increase.

Per gallon cost around here- $2.55-->$2.75, depending upon where your at.

Went by a station this morning....fricken $3.09 / gallon. DAMN!

Since sunday afternoon to fill our truck and rig we spent $123.Gas jumped from $2.54 on monday to $2.74 yesterday and we are now between $3.01 to $3.42.That is 87 octane. We have had an average of $1.10 price increase here in GA. in 30 days.
I have been hearing rumors of a truck drivers strike. Our country relies on trucking for something like 80%+ of freight movement(a strike will cripple the U.S.).I wonder how fast the Govt. can get the prices driven back down?

Its going to get to the point where going out to eat is a rich mans game.
This in the long run will effect alot of the bigger operations out there.
Just talking to the locals here -the buzz is nobody is going out of the way to pass through a fast food drive through.

Anyone belong to Sams club or the likes of ,where if your a member you get a fuel discount? Maybe worth the members fee to fill up consistantly.

Have filled up twice this week @ over $70.00 each time.....you bet this affects my pricing.

Gas now at $3.29 a gallon for unleaded kerosene at $2.29
every other night it cost more then $130.00 to fill up truck and Machine.
I have no choice other then to increase my customer cost.
15 years in the biz and work harder and longer just to stay at the same profit level of yesterday.
Anyone that quotes jobs at lowballer prices will not stay in business very long these days.

I find that since I don't have an 'annual' agreement with my customers, my prices tend to increase. If they ask, I do mention the gas prices increasing and they can relate. I've raised prices $10 to $30 between cleanings w/ no complaints. I have an '86 E150 van with a double tank and it takes about $70 to $80 to fill it up

Those little import trucks are starting to look better and better all the time.

Why not take the 'Grant' approach and drive a little Mini Cooper? It is rumored that the gas station attendant was heard to say "get the eyedropper Joe, here comes Grant for his monthly fillup". Seriously, would something like the Cooper pull a 1,500 pound trailer? I would like to have that option on those jobs more than a hour away - don't know how we can continue operating our 11 mpg monster.

Richard

Grant may be smarter than we think driving that mini cooper.....the only problem will be the ladder.... ;)

$3.39 this morning here in North CArolina. Filled up last night at $2.62 good thing I did.

My operating cost per mile has increased almost 20% in the last 72 hours. Almost 53% in the last 30 days.
3 of every 5 stations you pass going down the road are closed becasue they are out of gas. Even the BIG names like Quik Trip are out of gas in some areas.
The limit at the gas station is anywhere from $20.00 to $30.00 per customer, depending on where you stop. Yes, the stations are performing self-rationing so as to maintain a quasi-manageable level of fuel in the ground. Trust me, at dang near 3.50 per gallon, 20 bucks does not get the tanks very wet.

You bet yer ass my pricing structure has changed.

That said, we are currently booked every single day from now till the last week in September. :)

Life is good and we are rockin' right along ....

Cujo

Will someone please explain to me whats going on with the price increases.
Is there a rational reason or is this simply a orchestrated rip off ?

I vote Ripp Off!

Somebody over in the middle east needs another Mercedes?
Need more money for the wives in the Harem?

Fuel oil in the Northeast is going to be outrageous!

ummmm... dude... have you been in a cave?

check out CNN or some other local news.. you'll find the following information..

1- A cat 4 'cane just wiped out much of what was formerly known as the Gulf Coast of the USA.
2- The 2 pipelines that supply the east coast of the US are operating at something around 25% of capacity.
3- All the refineries in the area are damaged/inop/shutdown
4- Ditto for the rigs offshore

Do we not have a oil reserve here in America?
Why cant we tap into it?
The other companys that are still in operation will gladly pick up the slack.
Im shure the refineries that are left are working at full capacity now.

Wonder how long it will take to get these refineries to get back up and running?

Arent we involved in some kind of war in the middle east? Hmmmm I think we are. We just liberated an entire coutry thats full of crude oil. Why are we paying such a price to get that product to America?

The boys in Iraq are paying about 35 cents a gallon!
