And that is one heck of an uneducated bias.
It depends on what engine is in it. Some of the Ford Engines are actually quite good. Others need to have a couple of things done to them, then they are excellent. Kind of like the early Duramax's, and some of the 5.9 cummins. There is no perfect engine.
I can tell you that I have a small fleet of Ford's and they have been basically trouble free. We have only had two trucks that we have had a continual problem with, which when it is less than 10%, I am a happy camper. They were both fixed under the Manufacturers warranty.
I would stay far away of any ford products. Especially if its a diesel.
I would not buy a New Ford with all the engine problems they are having. My loaded out 1 ton single axle has 259,000 miles on it and all I do is change fluids and it never quits hauling my enclosed 16 ft trailer. BUT it has the best engine ford ever made 7.3 diesel and could pull just about anything.....
Too bad Ford doesn't sell glider kits like the big rigs do. I would order a 2015 F-450, put a reman 7.3L Diesel with a 5 Speed manual behind it and forget about it. I can get a left over 2014 Dodge 4500 with a Cummins and a 6 Speed manual transmission for about $6500 more than I can a 2015 Ford with the 6.7L Diesel 6 speed automatic. I won't know what I'll buy next month until I just actually buy it.
