Downstream Dilema

Thought I just had an injector crap out on me, no problem so I thought. I grab another out of the war chest in the van and slap it on, no dice. So I finish up the job for the day with the stand-by x-jet.

I get home and hook up both "bad" injectors (Super Suds Suckers from E-Spec) to my skid unit, same gpm & psi, and they both suck like a champ. I know you're thinking back pressure on the van unit (which is an idle-down kohler unit), wrong. I put an open end whip hose on the injector and still nothing. BUT, while cranking the van unit and shutting it down I feel the suction for just a second.

Any ideas? This ones got me scratchin my head...

Got It!

If this happens to anyone, take a 4mm allen and put a larger orphice in the injector. I can't explain why or how, all I know is it worked. Maybe someone could enlighten us as to why all of a sudden this issue would appear, work on 1 machine and not another with the same specs?

Exactly the same. I even hooked up a 12 ft. jumper from the van unit to the trailer mounted reels just to check for obstructions that would cause back pressure. It should have drawn like crazy just putting an open 3/8 line on it though. Makes no sense.

I agree Lou, Bob's seem to be better. I've got half a dozen injectors between the 2 rigs, the van setup came with the super suds sucker (4 months ago)& I got 2 back ups just cause I liked the increased draw rate. But I've never had an issue with the skid's injectors in 2 years which are from P-Tek.

This is probably standard procedure for you guys already but, every time I'm done downstreaming, I put the suction hose over into my clean water tank and pull clean water through the injector while rinsing. I've got one injector now (from Bob) that I got last fall, and it is still going strong. When I'm done washing, just put it in the clean water and as long as it is pulling water, I can't tell a difference at the nozzle. Works great.

Danile is correct that is what you need to do after you chem.
One other thing you need to do so often is to clean the whole sytem out. I found that the boiler cleaner from Goodway

a great job if you run about a 1/2 gallon thru your system every 2-3 months. Make sure you put a strainer on the pick up as you recirculate the mix.
I get alot of acale and chem build up out of the machine. We sent a Mi-T-M in for a check up and the tech said the coil and lines were spotless after 13 months of steady use and doing this procedure 3 times during that time on it.
