DEAD!

Top Three Fears a Prospect has when the phone rings:
1) Your going to waste their time
2) Your going to try to sell them something
3) Your going to be just like every other sales person

Easiest way to figure out a person's personality .... "Tell me about you"

The 3.1 ONLY reasons a prospect doesn't buy
1) They don't like you
2) You did something to trigger a negative passed experience with a sales person or a sales environment
3) You didn't explain it well enough
.1) Your price was too high (this is the cop out for the sales wienies)

Anyone from Iowa know how I handle this?

Good hustle DJ not many 23 year old have that kind of drive. Great job to Ron for continue to learn to improve. I say that why you are where you are today Ron because you identified that you can always get better and never give up. Now it just seems to be automatic because what you learned from the beginning.

Here's the problem, The guys I have helped...Wont tell

Oh, I'll tell. Ron has helped me a lot guys and I appreciate every bit of it.

Too bad commercial is so cut throat with price being all that matters. Heck I might be better off getting a job at McDonalds.

Lol.. Commercial is bigtime cut throat. If you want your business to have the most value if you were to sell it then commercial is king. What I like is what I do. Mix it up.

Residential standards are much higher then commercial standards because residential you deal with the owners where commercial you rarely deal with ownership. Also Residential is the cash king where commercial is about getting paid 30+days down the road and your always watching your back because commercial accounts are cutthroat. Guys cross up with gross compared to profits in commercial so the lowballers swarm commercial because they may get 50 stores for $100,000 gross for the year but there profit margin is Zip.

Reason why I never give up the residential because your clients will pay to get the best which is why we have repeats for as long as 17 yrs now.

Thought I would share on this.....what defines success? how much money you make? how many employees you have ? how many big contracts you have? how many people look up to you? how long you been in business? how many people you have help come successful? having a residual income? not having to work?
Don't even know why I am hijacking ....I just see the conflicts with some and just wanted to make you think about being successful in a different way .

There's actually a thread about it Al, good to see you around.

I thankful I'm blessed enough to help others. God, family first, every thing else after that is your choice. Happiness can't be bought, so many young folks don't believe that.

Good to see you Al, I mean that. Hope all is well, come to our ga meeting.

A persons idea of success often changes through out their life, at first most all buisness people spend 24-7 on their buisness and most love it, then they realize their is more to life and get balance, at least thats what most of the people I talk to have found including myself

Very true. Main reason why I don't expand my business. It took me pretty much 17 yrs to get this thing to run like a machine. I'm like most people which is I love money. Who wouldn't love money...but... Anyone can tell you that's been around in business or the work field that when your going peddle to the metal there you can miss out on many things.

In my case I missed both of my sisters weddings because being In Beruit Lebenon in the Navy during that crisis in the early 80's. Became a police officer and worked on many holidays and then started Powerwashing to keep my wife home with our girls. Got involved in Union activities, Powerwashing org. Activities, started an investor group with 9 others in the late 90's so we could have a Million dollar credit rating as a group to snag Stock IPO's and also get stock before it even became IPO's(big risk because some companies failed here where they never were able to come out public and we invested in them already) and did some other odd things.

Today my life is much more manageable and I have much more time to do alot of different things especially family stuff.

So IMHO you nailed it and sometimes I wish I realized that much sooner then later.
