Christmas cards

I'm thinking about mailing Christmas cards to my customers this year. It would be a Happy Holidays/Thank you card. I even thought about inserting a discount card for 2009 services. It would be a good way to keep in touch with past customers, and maybe schedule some work for early 2009. What do you guys think? Anyone done this in the past?

I think its a good idea. I get them all the time. I just got one from my realtor and I bought my house 7 years ago.

Good idea. Why is it that here you say Christmas cards, when the cards are sent, it is a holiday card.

What is it with people being afraid of using the word christmas?

I should be getting mine next week. It is a good idea. I think customers really appreciate it, and its one more way to keep your name in front of them.

I got mine out yesterday. It reminded them of our yearly roof maintenance program, and gave them a discount on new services. Also we put our refrigerater magnet in it with a business card. Its all about keeping your name in front of them, so it cant hurt.

Jonathan. I do Holiday or Season Greeting too just because there are many faiths, Jewish, Hindu Muslim etc etc

I think every biz should send cards, some I hand deliver with gift certs and as usuall I also bring in Italian Pastries to several offices

We sent about 120 out this week. Happy holidays. We get our at the
dollar store, basic and still a nice card. I hand sign all of them.

How do you customize them for your business? I can assume if you just get a normal card and just sign it, people are going to be like what in the world ... who is this?!.

How do you do it?

Theres plenty of places on the internet. Vista Prints has a rush order delivery check them out. I have a local mailing store you can get them at and it has your company name imprinted on them. They are pretty nice. I have plenty from the last two years just sending them out this year

This is a great video!!!!! Chuck is the man

Do not make the Christmas card a advertisement.

We send expensive cards to our client that simply spend the money.

The other customers and potential ones get a very inexpensive card thats simple and nice.

We chose not to say Merry Christmas or Use JC on the cards. They will only say happy holidays. (no I'm not the devil) Years back we sent a non christian a card and it was offensive to him.

Since this day we figure we could spread holiday cheer without involving JC.

Believe me at first i was upset, but after reflecting on it I have never used my church for marketing my business and keep it separate. So why not this also.

It has been a good choice because I have had other customers mention they like the cards and shared thier beliefs as well.

religion and politics are not great topics with your customers.

We will send around 450 conventional cards, we will send around 4000 regular. We normally send more....

And yes I get calls off the cards, its not are intentions.

We send them to our current customers only. I have a mailing service do them, I would rather have my people working on getting new business then spending the time to send out 5000 Holiday cards.

That good advice, truly is Matt. If i could find someone reasonable I would do the same.

The good customers we visit this time of year, its and excuse to see them by taking them some candy and a card. Face time!!!!

5000 cards are printed in by KInkos in 24 hours. The gals will run labels for those with a holiday Script. All done in about 5 hours two people. We are good at mailing, we do alot of it every day.

I have mine made at vista print. I have about 500 to get out next week and more coming.
We just wich them a merry chrisymas and happy holidays.
The only advertising we do is our logo is on the card inside and we have our website printed on the bottom of the inside pretty small.
I have 364 days a year to hit 'em hard, I let the christmas cards go light on advertising.
