Can Individual Freedom return to this country?

I'm having a hard time keeping this straight - Driving is a privilege ok, now what about roller skating? Is that a right? Walking - shoes or no shoes? Horse? Now what about in the future when we have flying cars - right or privilege?

Back to the "Drivers License". When you voluntarily accepts this contract (and it is a contract) you accept all the terms and conditions of said contract, which are codified in your State statutes. You are obligated to abide by everything associated with that contract. We can't change their rules which we agreed to abide by, but we can dispense with the contract. Warning, this is not recommended for the faint of heart or anyone that does not truly understand what is involved.

Alfred, Its certainly not voluntary. Coercion, intimidation, force, violence, fraud, deception - Driver Licensing, the root of all evil IMO.

Again with the Alfred ??

It certainly is voluntary... no one dragged you down to the DMV and forced you to take a test and drive around the block. You did that voluntarily albeit in ignorance and without full disclosure.

I agree with the rest, and will add this ... ALL Licensing is evil, they ALL operate on the same principles. If you accept their license, you are require to follow ALL their rules (jump through their hoops). Licenses are a "privilege" which can be revoked or taken away at any time. They can't take away something you don't have and they can't criminalize what you do when you don't have "their license" to do it.

If they require a Certification to demonstrate knowledge and competence in maneuvering an automobile (or any other sort of professional occupation), fine, but don't trick me into some hundreds or thousands of rules that allows them to treat me like a criminal anytime they feel like it.

As I mentioned in this thread http://www.propowerwash.com/board/u...es-be-licensed&p=288030&viewfull=1#post288030, a License is "The permission by competent authority to do an act which without such permission, would be illegal". If I get a License, does that make me a "Competent Authority"?

How many hundreds of different licenses are out there? If you didn't have one for what you are doing are you a criminal? Is cleaning someone's house or fleet a crime? I'll say it again, Certification is fine, and I'm all for it, but if I'm caught using a chemical that I haven't been Certified to use, then I suppose a fine would be in order, but that wouldn't (or shouldn't) make me a criminal. People dump motor oil on the ground all the time. It makes me sick because I have a well and I know that crap will come back up my pipes sooner than someone on city water. Proper disposal of harmful substances is important and fines should be imposed on those that do it, but you'll likely never catch anyone in the act.

Skateboarding is a crime in various places around the country.

Well I'm sorry that your not smart enough to know that you do not need a license to perform the above mentioned activities except for driving a car.

Darrel, not me. Its kind of moot as far down the river as we are but driver licensing is in no way voluntary for the reasons I mentioned.
