I could give a rats ass about offending radicals, nor do I fear 'retribution' from radicals. That fear stems from the same bigotry that inspires this reverend to burn the Quran. Oh NO, we shouldn't offend the Muslims because they're all crazy and are gonna kill us! How about not offending Muslims because it is RUDE?

This statement from the white house is a straw man that allows them to condemn this action based on imaginary consequences, but not for the intolerant, un-American, jack-assery that it is. Book burning should offend us all, it certainly offends all Muslims, and it should be publicly denounced from the highest office in the land as antithetical to American principles.

If I announced a bible burning ceremony on the anniversary of the Oklahoma city bombing, which coincidentally fell on Easter Sunday, I wonder how many would rush to defend my first amendment rights.
 
I think we are in agreement here Jim. Flag burning isn't a "right" it's a stupid, rude, disrespectful response directed towards an entire nation. That is why whoever does it should be beat senseless by whatever citizens of the nation happen to be surrounding him at the time.

Likewise, disrespecting someone's religion in that manner.

Hey I love this country and I am proud I served this country by joining the Navy back in 81-82. I also been to Jerusalem and Lebenon right after the Marines where blown up in the Barricks while they slept..

Years later when I got married one of my best friends from Childhood who happen to be muslim was in my wedding party. I always based my friendships on the persons character. Of course there are some reasons why I wouldn't hang out with certain type of people no matter what like anyone affiliated with the Al-Quada.

The burning of the American Flag is a huge embarrassment to this country and I would argue that it does not fall into the 2nd ammendent which is the freedom of speech. You can't burn money(Even though my girls can sure burn thru money) and you can't desicrate property. The American Flag stands for Freedom all around the world whether other groups agree or not and it should be protected and forever respected property.

To for one second support this nut job to have the right to burn the Quaran then the consequenses of his actions will most definitely cause at least one of our Proud Military Men to most likely get killed over sea's. This act will put our Men in more harms way over there........and why anyone asks??? Because we now have lowered our standards to there's and over there because of these lack of standards they are dying all the time. This is the people of the middle east the hardcore ones that I'm talking about. Where smarter then that.

Don't stoop to there level. I hope to God that this guy does not burn that holy book because his reasons are wrong and its just wrong to do that anyway.

This country is by far the toughest country in the world and its like the Generals of the Japanese military realized just a little to late when the bombing of Pearl Harbor started....THEY WOKE UP A SLEEPING GIANT!!!

I will never say I am embarrassed to be American when I know my fellow military men and woman are putting there lives on the line to keep my freedoms intact. Maybe you should tell them when they come back after serving honorably and possibly got injured or even killed. Tell there parents how embarrassed you are of our Country.

Your philosphy is skewed. You believe in change...fair enough many people do. Most people do. But your way of showing it is way to radical and now for you to say your embarrassed to be an American....then leave and don't let the door hit you on the way out. Wow. Nine years have passed. We took the high road. We worked with the UN and within most of their timelines. We have allowed our young men to die at the hands of child snipers and cowardly roadside bombers because we are too concerned about killing a few civilians to effectively protect our troops.

Because of our taking the high road we now enjoy the same or even more freedoms than we did before. Flying on a plane is now a joy. There is no more danger of attack because the world loves us for being so sensitive.

Is this the reality that floats around in your pharmaceutically altered consciousness? Before you get all up in arms about my previous post please read a little history. Here's a VERY quick synopsis.

America was a British colony. Under British rule. (Now America is under the rule of New York, Illinois, California, and other urban centered states)

Some found the rule objectionable and filled with Tyranny. (Now Americans are taxes and Laws are based on the tyranny of the populace of the above mentioned states)

Some rebelled (it's coming)

Supplies were cut off at first, then the killing began (Can you say MONTANA? or Militia?)

A FEW patriots who believed that GOD GIVEN RIGHTS supersede government "allowed" rights bucked the system (Where are those men now?)

One of them was Thomas Paine. While wacko in his religious beliefs (Lou can ya hear me?) later in his life, his writings inspired good men to rise up against their OWN country and birthed the greatest nation in the world. These same men set safeguards (via the constitution and the Bill of rights to ensure that the corrupt government that forced their hand could never raise it's ugly head here. Unfortunately today this solid document is looked at by the hijackers of our country as an "outdated" document based on 200 year old logic. They forget that history forgotten is destined to repeat itself. They also forgot that the ten commandments are over 3000 years old yet still stand as new as they were the day God struck them in the rocks with his own finger.

He has authorized more than Bush ever did and Obama is taking a lot of heat from the LEFT, but is still going after them full force no matter what the left says. He ramped up troop numbers in Afghanistan. You say he's too concerned about killing civilians. YET many have been killed to get the bad guys. Tony this is the things you say that is way off the wall & so radical that your now putting down all the people from my state. How insensitive can you be especially considering that 345 Fireman died directly from that attack and others that died afterwords including a good friend of mine Jim Ryan who died last Christmas day.

When you say these type remarks you generalize. This mind set is the same as saying since we were attacked by extreme Muslims all Muslims must be bad. Think about that for a second. When you have some free time you might do well to read some of their comments and notes.

You will probably be surprised on their stances on capital punishment, individual rights, states rights, federal welfare (they were against it even during natural disasters) and the overall limitation of the federal government.

Our entire generation has been forcefed a lie via our government brainwash camps (public schools). This lie, along with a lack of ambition to uncover the truth, has resulted in a populace that dares even discuss the thought of a mosque anywhere near ground zero.

Our country was attacked nine years ago. We were attacked by cowards that targeted civilians specifically. Werethey alone? No they were assisted by the worthless scumbag muslim women and children who were filmed dancing in the streets and celebrating in cities across our nation (especially detroit) when the towers fell.

I will say this I'm a proud American as is my kids and the rest of my family. Our Founding Fathers were all great people and if it wasn't for them we wouldn't even be having this debate. But I will say this, those were different times. There core beliefs were mostly right on but everything changes. Today I have 2 girls who are both brilliant.(I know all fathers say that about there kids). Today I teach my girls that they should try to be the very best they can be and if that means that they have a chance to rise to the very top and to be a boss of many men...They should go for it. Back then with our founding fathers that would never be accepted. So even though you think everything today should be the same way it was back then-- it never will. Today my girls could be like a Thomas Jefferson or a George Wahington where they can go all the way to the top of this country. Nothing is the same as it was 200+yrs ago.
