As for me and my home, we will serve the lord......and load my 12ga. to protect it
Hey I love this country and I am proud I served this country by joining the Navy back in 81-82. I also been to Jerusalem and Lebenon right after the Marines where blown up in the Barricks while they slept..
Years later when I got married one of my best friends from Childhood who happen to be muslim was in my wedding party. I always based my friendships on the persons character. Of course there are some reasons why I wouldn't hang out with certain type of people no matter what like anyone affiliated with the Al-Quada.
The burning of the American Flag is a huge embarrassment to this country and I would argue that it does not fall into the 2nd ammendent which is the freedom of speech. You can't burn money(Even though my girls can sure burn thru money) and you can't desicrate property. The American Flag stands for Freedom all around the world whether other groups agree or not and it should be protected and forever respected property.
To for one second support this nut job to have the right to burn the Quaran then the consequenses of his actions will most definitely cause at least one of our Proud Military Men to most likely get killed over sea's. This act will put our Men in more harms way over there........and why anyone asks??? Because we now have lowered our standards to there's and over there because of these lack of standards they are dying all the time. This is the people of the middle east the hardcore ones that I'm talking about. Where smarter then that.
Don't stoop to there level. I hope to God that this guy does not burn that holy book because his reasons are wrong and its just wrong to do that anyway.
This country is by far the toughest country in the world and its like the Generals of the Japanese military realized just a little to late when the bombing of Pearl Harbor started....THEY WOKE UP A SLEEPING GIANT!!!
USA has the ability to wipe out the entire human race...but where smart. Our top killers are scattered around the world and where watching.... you can take that to the bank.
Tony some things you say I agree with but you are way to radical for me when it comes to your beliefs. I will never say I am embarrassed to be American when I know my fellow military men and woman are putting there lives on the line to keep my freedoms intact. Maybe you should tell them when they come back after serving honorably and possibly got injured or even killed. Tell there parents how embarrassed you are of our Country.
Your philosphy is skewed. You believe in change...fair enough many people do. Most people do. But your way of showing it is way to radical and now for you to say your embarrassed to be an American....then leave and don't let the door hit you on the way out. I'd rather be here then anywhere in the world.
And lastly you have no top secret clearances so you are clueless of what our next moves are so you just spout off how Embarrassed you are of your homeland. Your tactics don't work because pissing people off will not get the job done. You need to make your points without all the idiotic remarks. K maybe I was a little harsh there but seeing we just gave a 25 yr old Military hero the highest medal you can get in wartime which is the Medal of Honor and what he did to earn this and to be alive to talk about it(Rare) He's my hero along with his comrads and I would never tell them how embarrassed I am of this country.
It is interesting how people do things that Christ himself would not do, in his name. It looks bad for our nation, it looks bad for ALL religions, and it looks really bad for the little podunk, redneck church. (it only has 50 members.)
I just cannot get over how people can hate like that, in the name of their version of religion. It doesn't make sense to me.
Wow. Nine years have passed. We took the high road. We worked with the UN and within most of their timelines. We have allowed our young men to die at the hands of child snipers and cowardly roadside bombers because we are too concerned about killing a few civilians to effectively protect our troops.
Because of our taking the high road we now enjoy the same or even more freedoms than we did before. Flying on a plane is now a joy. There is no more danger of attack because the world loves us for being so sensitive.
Is this the reality that floats around in your pharmaceutically altered consciousness? Has the US as a whole ingested just the right amount of prozac to swallow all the freedoms that have been taken away from us like a whore swallowing the fruits of her labor and wiping her mouth as she looks in the mirror saying "I had to do what I did just to get along."
John, buddy, you don't live in my country. You live in the country you and thinkers like yourself stole from true patriots while we slept and tried not to "offend" your sensitive fairyland dream of a US that could be perfect like you believe Europe is.
Frankly it amazes me that you can look up at your skyline at the empty area where the towers once stood NINE years later realizing that your kind of people are scared to death to build anything tall there again. The fact is if any one in NY had an ounce of patriotism or a gram of testosterone left in them there wouldn't be any discussion of a mosque near ground zero because that scumbag proposing it would have a bullet in his forehead.
Take a look at the videos of the attack that will be shown all day today. Then, please, WAKE UP and strip off the Benedict Arnold mentality and stand WITH the men and women in our military who simply want to be allowed to show this enemy the wrath of REAL US patriots without worrying about who we offend in the process.
This country has been hijacked from within by those who hate America and hate her patriots. We elected a president who hates us and everything we stand for. When this happened to our forefathers a few of them stood up, took their lives in their own hands and under the protection and leadership of God created thw greatest country this world has ever seen. Yet, even then there were those like you, John, who thought they were radical and out of touch. Thank God their kind came with a big mouth of criticism and a small level of guts or our forefathers would have never succeeded.
Am I radical? If only I had one tenth the fortitude of the likes of Thomas Paine I wouln't have to walk with my head down in shame nine years after human waste attacked our country.
Wake up from your sleep.
The fact is if any one in NY had an ounce of patriotism or a gram of testosterone left in them there wouldn't be any discussion of a mosque near ground zero because that scumbag proposing it would have a bullet in his forehead.
What do YOU think about this ?
It sounds to me like some unknown Redneck Preacher is trying to make a name for himself, at the expense of Americans abroad, and possibly here :nono:. I am NO Lover Of Islam, but why fan the flames, and stir up chit ?
GAINESVILLE, Fla. -- If building an Islamic center near ground zero amounts to the epitome of Muslim insensitivity, as critics of the project have claimed, what should the world make of Terry Jones, the evangelical pastor here who plans to memorialize the Sept. 11 attacks with a bonfire of Qurans?
Jones, 58, a former hotel manager, argues that as an American Christian he has a right to burn Islam's sacred book because "it's full of lies." And in another era, he might have been easily ignored, as he was last year when he posted a sign at his church declaring "Islam is of the devil."
But now the global spotlight has shifted. With the debate in New York putting religious tensions front and center, Jones has suddenly attracted thousands of fans and critics on Facebook, while around the world he is being presented as a symbol of American anti-Islamic sentiment.
Muslim leaders in several countries, including Egypt and Indonesia, have formally condemned him and his church, the Dove World Outreach Center.
An Islamic group in England has also incorporated his efforts into a YouTube video that encourages Muslims to "rise up and act," widening a concern that Jones - though clearly a fringe figure with only 50 members in his church - could spark riots or terrorism.
Jones said he sincerely hoped that his planned Quran-burning would not lead to violence. He dismissed the idea that it could put U.S. troops at greater risk, and he said that his church was being persecuted.
He said his bank recently demanded immediate repayment of the $140,000 balance on the church mortgage; that his property insurance had been canceled since he announced in late July that he intended to burn copies of the Quran; and that death threats now come in regularly.
"We have to be careful," he said. He tapped a holster on his right hip; it held a .40-caliber pistol, which he said he was licensed to carry. "The overall response," he added, "has been much greater than we expected."
Jones appears to be largely oblivious to the potential consequences of his plans.
He said that nothing in particular had set him off. Asked about his knowledge of the Quran, he said plainly: "I have no experience with it whatsoever. I only know what the Bible says."

John, this isn't personal. Where you think I'm radical I think you are uneducated regarding the debate between the founding fathers that produced the timeless document we call the constitution.
When you have some free time you might do well to read some of their comments and notes.
You will probably be surprised on their stances on capital punishment, individual rights, states rights, federal welfare (they were against it even during natural disasters) and the overall limitation of the federal government.
Our entire generation has been forcefed a lie via our government brainwash camps (public schools). This lie, along with a lack of ambition to uncover the truth, has resulted in a populace that dares even discuss the thought of a mosque anywhere near ground zero.
Our country was attacked nine years ago. We were attacked by cowards that targeted civilians specifically. Werethey alone? No they were assisted by the worthless scumbag muslim women and children who were filmed dancing in the streets and celebrating in cities across our nation (especially detroit) when the towers fell.
Islam is not a passive, peaceful religion. The reason you don't know that is because you find it easier to believe cnn than to go out and get a copy of that insane book and read it.
While you guys are on your moral high horse maybe you can explain to me why the the murderous muslims are a protected class after murdering 3000 of our citizens, while the men, women and children of the branch davidians were gunned down and burned just because reno "thought" they "might" do something.
John, think logically and use your own mind and do a little research. If followed as intended our country would still be the greatest.
