Geez Mike, that really sucks! My son is a senior at the U of O and he was having the same type of problems at his house we talked by phone at 2 AM this morning.

For you guys that might not be familiar with these parts, Mike's in Eugene, which is 110 miles south of Portland. Not only are these temps unusual, they're setting records. Plus, it's been going on for almost two weeks now. It's completly shut us down. Probably another four days to go until back to work. Definitely not in the budget!
 
I can't conceive the temps you guys talk of. Cold day here in NZ in the middle of winter might make 8Degrees C (46 F). What do you do for income at times like this? for me things slow down for sure but work never stops totally. How do you generate income in the winter months?

Calvin, yesterday I got a call from a gal I know that lives in Sisters. She told me that her well pump had froze up and asked me what to do. I told her to go to the store and buy up bottled water before it was all gone and/or get a hotel room before they're all booked up.

December is our coldest month. Average daytime high is 46 F, nightime low is 35F. So we wash year 'round. Except this year!!
 
Cold here or at least in Calif terms. Was out last night doing commercial work and we had the temps dip down to about 26. Drove back from the last one from last night and saw this after I parked the rig. Was supposed to get back out there tonight but they are calling for 19 degrees. Put it off for another 24

It is unusually cold all over the US. It is really crazy weather. Imagine the Australian continent getting locked down by an unusual cold front. That is what we are experiencing.
