Gary since we are talking freely Nce charleston with hotel made just a little over 66,000 in rooms alone. The floor around 18,000 and banners 8,000 I expect the food and bar was about 54,000 but that's a guess.

How much did you make with nearly a 100 attendees at 110 a piece , that about 11,000

Vendors about 500 each , you had at least 12 that's another 6000.

Since we are discussing money making how's the picnic business? Looks pretty good.

Maybe someone right now is copying you in the east, just like they copy me.

I think your way more successful than anyone else that does this. Chris just didn't know that.

Since we are talking money makers some charge others for infomercial. As much as 125 each person to pitch products.

We as contractors praise these events, why because while fighting amongst all the real leaders in the industry exists these people gain to capitalize on contractors that do not know any better.

Interesting plan, keep all others fighting and arguing while they charge people to sell them stuff.

If your really good we can sell you a membership for discounts!! Lol

So all know this threads off course, this was started because a good Freind got banned by individual owners of other bbs privately owned. The bbs are powerwash.com thegrimescene and window cleaning resource.

The banning was no other reason than they were my friends.

These are people in our industry who in my mind are truly poor representation of leaders.

I forgive all these people too for being short sided and cruel.

These are my views and only mine. Not pwi or any other affiliation I have. Yes as a leader I will have my personal opinions. Those who do not like it to bad.

I think you're overreacting.
The other guy might have been trying to discredit your free entry, but he didn't seem to know much about it when I asked.

I've tried explaining this forum link value "myth" several times on several forums and like the villain in the Halloween series, it just keeps coming back to life.

Forum post links don't hurt but they really don't move the SEO needle either. If you have 4000 backlinks and 3960 of them are from forums....and got deleted, I doubt you'd drop a single spot in the serps or lose any link juice. First, a forum thread page is like any other web page to the crawlers. When it gets crawled and it's contents are indexed, the link value is also calculated by google. You can do long tail keyword searches (content on the page) and that page will pop up but that's not a function of SEO, it's a function of the content and how uncompetitive the search string was.

When Google runs it's link value algorithm, it takes the PR of the page and divides it's juice and passes it to the links. That includes internal links. The thread page would have to be SEO'd itself (backlinks to the thread, page optomized, etc) to have any PR. If by some strange chance, a thread page did have any decent juice, it would be divided amongst the outbound links. A site with a homepage PR of 5 doesn't pass that "5" juice to a link on one of its buried pages. It can pass some (not much if it's not done right) of its juice to it's own page but as I said, it would be split by the page links.

Can I tell you how much I dont give a rip about my site rankings, and never have?
 
It is just a matter of how people are complaining about web rankings, and how people bounce from forum to forum trying to get the maximum number of hits to their websites. That has never been my business model, and showing people photos of dirty and clean properties has not been my model, either. Just not my thing. I go in, sell them on me, and my abilities, maybe do a demo, and perform to satisfy the customer, with a little extra, and it seems to work. The whole, my links were deleted has never been a concern of mine, as you well know. It is likely because I don't understand how it all works, because I have not made the effort to understand.
Anyways, as for NCE, yep, it should be profitable. Ron is generous, but he has to make money to pay for that generosity. I don't have a problem with that. He figured out a way to make money doing round tables, so good for him. It is not really important to me. Rest assured that if I am going to a round table, which so far, I have only gone when I was speaking, I have always paid my own way. I pay for my flight, my food, and if I stay over night, my room. That way I feel I can say what I want, and no one can get mad if I say something that they don't like.

You mean you didn't go around hounding Ron for a check for your hotel room for years?

Maybe if people knew how much it cost to go to these roundtables all over the country they would realize just how much Ron and others have invested in the power washing community and just how little these other big mouths that never go anywhere outside their own region care about anyone besides themselves.

Misplaced trust.
 
oops. I guess I should have. I usually went as a personal favor. I also have a tendency to rent a car, that Ron has me run errands in. Should I hound him to pay for that, as well?
