Average time to wash...

Initials took us on the store above about 9hrs to complete with two machines

18 Man hours.....hard cost 540.00 1458.00 lost in poor production numbers for the night.

Total Expense for this unit 1998.00

I have done this myself and will contunue to likley in the future.

This morning we are washing a fast food and new family style mexican place.

I'm interested to see what My guys will do with this today, we are short crew so new sales guy is going thru training today on what it actually takes.

I may get out and get some video...

I dont see how a initial cleanup on a fast food place could take more than 4 hours. drivethru/1 hr, sidewalks/1 hr, dumpste/1 hr. building wash is not included in my monthly service thats extra.

Because you live in the magic kingdom.( happy magical place):grinning-moose::yes4::dance3:

Maybe we are not talking about the same type of establishment or service. I'm talking about a freestanding place average about 150 ft by 65 ft, not a sit down type establishment. The size of a White Castle/Krystal burger Ron.

Greg, you area is cleaner because you live in a tourist town. In mississippi they have not cleaned places since the civil war.

covered in gum is a nightmare, now 18 man hours is extreme. I charge for 6 hours to be safe, some may only take four others 8.

We even get lucky and some 2 hours.

I just did the initial on a monthly sonic and you wanna talk about gum. It took three hours I think maybe 3.5.

maybe 1hr an 40min at the most what are they doing

Now heres the other factor in the time..

Are you guys showing up with a full tank?

I have to wait for my tank to fill up at least 3/4 (325) or my PW (8gpm) will suck it dry in the middle of a job. The water at most places i clean is low flow. that alone is about a 45+min wait. at the half way point i start DSing and then gotta wait a lil longer while it fills. downtime sucks

I do it after while i rinse

When we show up to a job and start the water, we don't just sit and wait. That's the time to set up recovery, blow or sweep, and pick up trash, move dumpsters, pre-spot, then work on gum. Last thing is surface clean then rinse.

Ever come across areas so dirty that you cant tell were the gum is?.. , Only after you surface clean then you can see the gum, thats what prompted me to run the sc then pop gum and rinse.

We did a job 2 weeks ago just like that.As we finished up 6 hours of cleaning and popping several thousand pieces of gum and throwing in about 300ft of curbing at no charge I wish I had padded the price another $400 or so.
The upside we will do $15k to $20k with this company in 2010.Great customers who don't argue about price and pay quickly.

This photo is just of one small square outside the window. All of these stores were covered in gum and have never been cleaned since built (cleaned meaning having gum removed) It was hell, and the same with our gas station chain as they had never had gum removed at their stores. I will admit with thought of the numbers that we were running only one hot water unit when we first picked up these stores and 2 cold 4gpm's hooked together for curbing, rinsing, .... During the initial's we picked up another unit and got faster however the labor was poor to say the least. We were only able to complete 1 store per night, now days that number could be less I am sure but from the standpoint of one that may not do these types of properties nightly then the first few can be a booger especially if they are covered in gum completely.

Speaking of Sonic's I have spent 8hrs myself just popping gum on some of these around here. Sonic sucks and are hard to deal with.

That's pretty nasty, I hope you didn't eat there!

Nigel, all the stores i have on Bimonthly/quarterly all look bad and you cant see the gum on drive tru area until youre done using the SC. Gum all over but i am looking for another hot water skid to help combat the gum issues. here is a pic of one i got on a 45 day

Now thats more like it, I didn't take many photos of those initial cleanings and that is very similar to the look these had on the initial's.
