Ask Hydrotek a Question

On the SS series, Mount the burner coil exhaust over the engine not the OTHER end of the machine. makes setting up the machine in vans very simple and clean . It would also isolate the ignitor from sitting over the engine and exposing it to heat and vibration from the engine. We run the units in vans and the 3 foot of exhaust from the burner costs ALOT of space that we could use.

We love our Hydrotek units but maybe you can bring the price down a bit to purchase these. Maybe swap out stainless steel with painted metal. Like alexy said put both exhaust on same side.

This is a gooooood thread. Nice to see BIG manufacturers looking for input.

I remember that thread now Nigel, thanks for posting it.

I saw that surface cleaner video and the cleaner looked like it did a good job.

I would like to see the new Karcher surface cleaner, hopefully it is a contractor version, not one of those cheap plastic toys at the box stores.

Nigel, is this the new Karcher surface cleaner you were talking about? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WxIvtOcRtc0

It is similar technology as the other, using venturi for suction like a sludge pump (which work great).

The discharge does not go too far but I have some ideas for that.

Id like to see fuel gauges of some sort. I dont like where high pressure line coming out coil is dont like always being on opposite side with my head next to burner setting up downstream 5er so set up your own configuration so i can just leave my injector on there and its stow it away in a cubby and turn off. Way i do it now is pull the polybraid line off. REMOTE START

Dont mean to jack the thread guys, but yes Chris, thats the one , but I had not seen that video

NIGELLLL!! Good to see you around. Must keep up better with you. Both those systems divert some of the GPM's to the venturi and away from the nozzles, I wonder how much?

Lou, I dont think a 6 or 8 gpm machine is a viable option due to the fact there are so many out there already that are good machines and are cheap and easy to assemble. I dont think they could be competitive with pricing in comparison to pressure pro, I have 2 pressure pro cold machines that I have had zero trouble with and hold up fine, I HATE their hot water washers though because the wiring is garbage and the frames are thin walled and cheap.

Russ you are right about pressure pro and its cold water units. I bought one this summer and its bullet proof. Hydrotek could build the same unit (maybe with a better spring) and sell it at the same price if they wanted too. The reason I would do this is......You build brand loyalty. So when a person grows their business and needs a hotwater unit they would buy the same brand. It would have to be competitively priced to get a new contractors to want to buy. Personally I like hydrotek and plan on buying more in the future if they remain of good quality, pricing, and have russ to work on it.lol

I do wish the gas and fuel tanks were made of thicker plastic, they tend to sag and hold water on the top.

Make a catalog that has specifications such as GPM/PSI weight and dimensions of thier units. The current catatlog is geared to "sell" the look and quality of the units. People allready know about them in the industry, they need to know technical specifics to see what unit is right for them. Instead a customer has to go online anyway to see and compare the units.

I think she is out on personal leave right now.

I have forwarded this thread to Hydro Tek.

By the way there will be some exciting new
products from Hydro Tek soon.:clapping::thumbup:

Hopefully before year end, I will post more when
products are released.:eek:k:

Hope all is well,

Thank you to everyone who has posted their opinions and suggestions. Good or bad feedback, we cherish the responses directly from YOU, the users.
Yes, I was out of the office, thank you for being patient.
I'll try to comment on each item.
ALEXY, JAMES: We are working on a way to combine exit locations of burner and engine exhaust, THANK YOU!
LAFAYETTE MOBILE WASH: Prior to this year, there was an option to install a clear fuel tube gauge. With the new CARB and Emmissions Regulations, we aren't able to use that method anymore. We'll be mindful of your suggestion and search for a method that will comply with the next level of 2012 CARB and Emmission standards. On the high pressure line, I had to seek an answer for this one. Installing the high pressure exit next to the exhaust exit reduces excess condensation. I'll follow up on this one to see if there is any other alternative. Do you mind if I contact you if I have any questions?
JON CHAPMAN: send me a photo of your muffler diverter, model#, and serial number.
JON, LOU, RON: New (matierial and more uniform shape on top) fuel tanks are coming with the 2012 CARB and Emisisons standards.
LOU, RUSS: Lou, great point about brand loyalty (and trust comes with that, too) The cold water market is extremely competitive. We're going to add more cold water washers to the standard product line. From compact 2400 @ 2.5gpm, to 5000 @ 5gpm and 3000 @ 8gpm, engine driven units and a few electric units as well.
ALEXY: Do you mind if I send you some literature with changes that came from your suggesstions? I'd like to get additional feedback from you.
I sincerely want to thank all of you who responded,
Denise
