12 volt hot box

just wanna throw it in there, I was never told what to do what XX happens and I've had figure it out, problem is that a lot of times you get to fix it but you don't rationally know what you did to get there .. but bahh.

Pressure switch, thermostat ???
I've used a PW with a beckett 12volt burner and had a lot of trouble, but once I found that "fan" which is inside the box was stuck, just a little persuasion and was working again.

probably I wasn't any clear at all but ... it wasn't a good day today.
sorry
hope you fix that Dustin

Sometimes it's the silliest little things that'll bite ya.

Now Im still unsure, I took the magnet out of one of my other machine's pressure switch that works fine and it does not show any magnetic properites (Like in the video) either. I switched it out with the other magnet and the burner still won't fire. I manualy ran that magnet across the read switch and nothing. I put that magnet back in the other machines pressure switch and everything still works fine. I then took a magnet from the fridge and ran it across the pain in the ass machine's read switch and it fires. Makes me think that the problem may be the read switch. I 've got a new flow switch on the way.Just wanted to set the record straight

The reed switch may be positioned improperly in its tube. Imagine if you will 2 parallel slivers if metal encased in glass (that's what's inside the brass tube), so they sit like this--- II. If magnetism is applied to the side of the reeds, they may not pull together. Try loosening the screw on the plastic case, and twist the reed switch around 90* or so and see if it lights.

I repositioned the reed switch several different ways. Got it to fire and run for short periods of time. A few times it would not stop burning even with the reed switch completely out of the pressure switch. I think the reed switch is faulty. If when I get the new flow switch (with new reed switch)and its still not working properly the next video I post on here will be me beating it to pieces with a baseball bat.

I got a good laugh out of the end of that post, but seriously I understand your frustrations. Hope the new switch fixes the problem.

Dustin

Does yor burner have a flame sensor? How about a pressure switch instead of a flow switch?

Hey good luck with that, I've had a lot of equipment that had to be worked out at first and then ran forever. I have a 12v myself and hasn't had a hiccup since I fixed it when new. The pressure switches seem sturdier to me and you can get 2 or 3 for the same as a flow switch.

Update, This hot box has killed five flow switches. Two st5s two st6s(I'm assuming all by destroying the read switches) and one other black flow switch
(the one with the thick wire and no read switch).I have had a larger battery on the machine and the 6th switch (the readless one)
lasted the shortest length of time, about three minutes vs ten to thirty minutes with the others.Any guesses?????????????????????????????????????
