    Bird repellant

Has anybody found a good solution to keep birds (specifically swallows) from nesting? I have some breezeways that I regularly clean and swallows nest on the tops of the sprinkler heads (so spikes aren't feasible), their droppings fall right on the staircase handrail. I clean em up, and with a...

15 Amp electric pw with hot seals

Anybody know of a good portable electric power washer capable of taking in hot tap water that uses no more than 15 Amps? Something like the AR Blue Clean 630-HOT but weaker so its doesn't draw 19 amps. This would be for tile cleaning and trash chute cleaning where I can't get access with my...

Worker Comp rate increases over the years

My insurance carrier has me divide my employee's labor between Roofing (ie roof cleaning) and Janitorial (ie everything else). I first had an employee in 2011. Here are my rates ($ premium per $100 in gross payroll) over the years and the percentage increase compared to the previous year...

    1/8 MEG 25015 nozzle needed

I can't find anyone local who has this specific nozzle in stock. The fan width is not that important (though I prefer 25 degree, 15 or 40 will do), its the small orifice (1.5) that I'm having trouble with. Its for a surface cleaner so I need two.

    Tape to insulate mufflers

Who sells that extreme heat insulating tape for mufflers that are mounted in vans? We've had three burns in the last week on our crew from reaching for stuff near the mufflers or exhaust pipes of our machines. Rather than redesign my entire layout, I'd like to just wrap everything hot.

BAD oil leaks on both pump and engine

This has been a bad week for me on equipment, I have major problems on two unrelated skids that I need help with: 1. My carpet cleaning truckmount (a Boxxer 421) has a Vanguard 18hp that is shooting oil out of the the gasket that holds the dipstick into the block/sump body. This is at the base...

    Ivy "feet" or suckers removal

Anybody have any tips on how to remove the stains left by ivy on siding (vinyl to be specific)? I'm talking about the little suckers that attached directly to the siding, obviously the ivy itself can just be ripped down. I'd prefer a chem that would soften them over a mechanical method, but...

Which is better 7.8gpm/2850psi or 6.5gpm/3450psi

For cleaning commercial concrete with a surface cleaner, would you rather have 7.8gpm at 2850psi, or 6.5gpm at 3450psi? Same 22 hp engine on both, and assume the same burner with both (so the 6.5 would run a little hotter). With 7.8 would I have to upgrade to 1/2" hose?

skid plate with built in belt guard and tensioner

Does anybody sell a universal skid plate with a built in belt guard and belt tensioner? If not, does anybody sell belt guards and tensioners separately that can be bolted to a plate?

    Lowest pressure hose end applicator

I'm part way through a big new construction brick acid wash job, and I'm wishing I had a lower pressure detergent applicator than the mjet. I know downstreaming with a soap tip is lower pressure, and we do it all the time, but I can't get the concentration I need for this job that way. Are there...

    Legacy 6.3gpm 3500 psi pump

I'm looking for a pump to pair with a 22hp engine. I've come across this pump Legacy ttv-3563, but is says it can be turned at 1450 rpm or 1750 rpm. What is the gpm at each speed?

    RL 51 trigger gun rebuild

Thanks Russ. The reason I haven't ordered them yet is that I can't seem to get the old ones out. I can't even see them in there, it looks like solid construction that the ball seats against when the trigger pin isn't compressed. I even checked a second trigger gun that doesn't have any leaks...

    Chemical transfer hand pump

Does anybody make one that lasts? I'm talking about the ones for 55 gallon barrels. I've tried the ones meant to siphon, but that seems to stop working within a couple weeks, then you have to manually pump till the tube breaks. I've also tried the more expensive ones with the big blue discharge...

    Vacuum pump out positioning

Anybody who owns an IPC Eagle auto discharge vac, a vacu-boom, or similar vacuum care to post a photo of the inside so I can see how they put the sump pump in there? It seems to only be level right in the middle, but I'm concerned if I put it right on the bottom it'll suck up ALL the sand and...

    Insulating Cargo Van

Small electric heater would not be able to keep up, also as soon as I hit the road I'd have to unplug it or especially if I use a propane heater would have to turn it off and things could freeze on the way to the job site. My 1500 watt space heater could barely keep things above 32 when outside...

    Insulating Cargo Van

This would probably also apply to box trucks and enclosed trailers...anyway, I'm hoping to insulate the back of my 2004 Sprinter van but I've noticed a ton of condensation on the metal ceiling right now (especially on sunny but cold days). I'm worried this will effect the stickability of the...

    Nozzle Size for Surface Cleaners

I might be splitting hairs here, but I heard somewhere that when calculating nozzle size in a scenario where you are splitting the flow into more than one nozzle (like a surface cleaner), it's not technically precise to divide the nozzle size from the chart by the number of nozzles. Yes, I know...

    GL Insurance over 3 stories

I currently have Joe Walters GL insurance. I love everything about it except they won't insure me if I clean over 3 stories up. I have several mid-rise buildings I'd like to pursue this year so I'm wondering who would cover me, but has the same perks as JW? no audits, cc&c etc.

    Laminar nozzle

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MOBcdnRQ4jY Can the nozzle technology used in water fountains to produce a tight, laminar stream of water be applied to medium or high pressure spray nozzles? Has anyone done this? Basically pack a bunch of "straws" upstream of the nozzle to increase surface area...

    Nasal Polyps

Has anyone else in this industry developed nasal polyps? I finally got my nose checked out by an ENT specialist after dealing with chronic sinusitis for 3 years, and they found lots of polyps. He said they don't know why some people get them and others don't but there is usually an underlying...
