i apoligized Roger to you days ago for even getting into your conversations. I never miss anyone that leaves. pwi choice, you choose to be here or choose not to be.

Never wished you gone Roger, just asked you stop complaining and bothering members. and if you where not happy why come?

possibly you realized its not TGP, we all think independant.

Yes: I do believe its the best mobile cleaning BBS around. Grease is just one small aspect of this giant industry.

PWI all the people can make there own choices and have there own minds and make there own decisions. I love it...

.

I'm sure we will meet one day, I will extend my hand out and if you shake mine we will probably laugh at this foolishness. If you dont I'm certain I wont loose any sleep and neither will you.

This making judgement of who Iam is the problem between you and I. I would love to know why you think you know me?

I for one dont know you, your freinds i talk with say your just rough around the edges and once you get to know Rog hes a good guy. So I tried and I treid to give you a break. You keep attacking my character, Well roger i know who I am. People also know that when another man says he steals or lies, in most cases its the pot calling the kettle thing.

hahahahah! Nice!!!

Phil I have some pictures of a tool, but I don't think you want him in your manual:D

Here is an adjustable pole scraper, the angles can be adjusted so you can get leverage down the duct:

Matt -

Could the tool you show here be used to scrap off oil/grease buildup from a heavy greased area such as a dumpster pad or parking stale prior to doin any flatwork washing? How sharp is the blade?

The manual is coming together quickly now. Only a few days more if you want to get some pictures to us. Those whos pictures are used will be listed in the contributors section of Intro.

Also could not figure out how to get on the Grease Police bbs (maybe they don't want me commenting :) Anyway, some one from there should call and walk me through it.

You have to fill out a profile, much like you have to on any other forum. If you need help, send me a PM with the phone number that I can reach you at, and I will be more than happy to walk you through the process. I am heading out of town for a couple meetings, but I will be back later this afternoon.

I'm glad you're here Ron. Without you, all of us dip**** grease guys involved with TGP would be brainwashed into believing that bare naked metal is an attainable standard. Now I can quit striving for perfection in KEC and just do enough to get by until my customer's kitchen burns to the ground, what a relief.

Roger Roger Roger, TGP was created by the members of PWI. You always complain I give you no respect.

For clarification, not fight picking. TGP was created by members of the KEC Industry, who happened to be members of PWI. They are also members of other online forums.

The Grease Police started as an online forum, but has grown into much more. Nothing at TGP is influenced by, or associated with PWI, so please do not claim to have taken part in anything that has resulted in what we have now at TGP.

Josh – TGP do not own the worthy standard of improving the industry-IKECA, Ackland and NFPA all have goals in improving all standards. In NFPA96 2008 3.3.11 states “For kitchen exhaust systems and cooking equipment, the act of removing grease, oil deposits, and other residue.” The term bare metal is descriptive and does not appear in the code. All of us even those not in the TGP use this as a reference point and visual standard. In short we all remove the fuel, thus removing one segment of the Fire Triangle.:)

Yes we do.;) It is our very essence of being.

Bare metal appears in TGP's standard....but we prefer the term "bare naked metal".

I belive it used to be included in the NFPA as well.

You have to admit that at least the cleaning part of the codes is getting watered down. It used to state that the entire system should be cleaned to bare metal, now it states that they should be cleaned to .002 inches, thats kind of absurd isn't it? I mean is somebody really going to carry a micrometer around to see if they cleaned it to .002 inches? It sounds to me like a cop out. Instead of finding ways to clean to bare metal, just change the codes so you don't have to.

We have developed a reporting system for customers so that they may file complaints with IKECA. We will be testing the first one out this week. Not that IKECA will do anything about it, but at least they will be able to see that everything isn't peaches and cream like they think. Some of their biggest members are some of their worst offenders.

Will this manual go over ways to write good proposals and how to write the subjugation clauses in lawsuits like the powerpoint presentation you had on the grease fire in the restaurant you covered in your seminars?

I loved that powerpoint presentation, it brought up a lot of good points! I have it saved somewhere. I would post it, but it is a HUGE file.

If anyone knows how to shrink a Powerpoint, we could probably post that seminar here on PWI. It is very informative, it will open a lot of peoples eyes.

As much as I would like to share those sort of thoughts, I am afraid a manual such as this is not the appropriate place. We have tried to keep it at a 10th grade reading level to assist people to gain a basic understanding of commercial kitchen systems and fundamental ways they can be cleaned.

We can't get overly legal. First because I am not a lawyer and do not have sufficient expertise. Secondly, I can just see some attorney saying "Mr. Ackland, didn't you say this or that..." or what ever suits their purpose to twist what we are trying to do which is raise the bar of this field and improve the image through consistent accountable service..

Not sure what the answer is. AS a "one man band" there just are not enough hours in the day to do everything. Contrary to what some think, I don't make much money at all this "bar raising" stuff.

Seriously, What I (we all) really need is someone to market all this stuff and get it out to the greater world.

In what manner does your organization ensure "consistent accountable service" from it's members?
