Well Yesterday morning I went out to spring and help Adrian with ABC on a deck he was finishing, During that time, I ripping out old boards and cutting new finishing slats for his customer, As I was doing that I lost my balance when I was hunching over and regained my balance with my hand on the patio, Well the old boards that I ripped out were lying around with the old nails sticking up, and I stuck my self about 1.5 inches with a nail, After a quick yell and some pressure I kept working,

As the day went on my hand started to swell. We finished the job and I thanked Adrian for letting me come out. On the way home I was in line at the toll plaza to pay my toll when all of a sudden a 1997 ford F-150 slammed into the back of my expedition going about 50 while I was at a complete stop. His car was totaled his air bags deployed and my rear end was pretty damaged, after the police came we came to find out that he had no insurance no drivers license, no ID nothing... GREAT! I just bought the damn vehicle 2 weeks ago... my insurance will cover it but the deductible will come out of my pocket.

Well after the accident I drove home, my hand was still swelling and my neck and back was killing me, So I decided to go to the ER, Come to find out after my overnight stay, I need surgery on my hand to fix the cut tendon of my middle finger, and My left lumbar has a fracture and I have a degenerated disk in my back....


What a freaking day...

Lay down somewhere, stay away from everyone and relax. Maybe today will be better. Sorry to hear about your day, a memorial weekend to remember.

well it could be worse? you could have tetnus and the gas tank on the rear of the vehicle could have exploded and well ....... lets just leave it at ....... "it could have been worse"
 
That sucks. Like Russ said, could have been worse, thank God it wasnt. You know though, if the guy had a license this wouldnt have happened.
 
Hope you get to being better... Take the squirt to civil court and take everything he owns. The legal system he goes through for breaking the law (no license, insurance and such will not do a thing for YOU but civil court will settle him out.
 
Thanks for the kind words guys, I will be taking him to court. And your right it could have been a lot worse Im glad I didn't have my trailer with me that day..

Yes i do have the uninsured motorist on my policy but the deductible is still around 500

Im just going to enjoy my pain meds and the weekend with my family, on the bright side I did sell the doctor to house wash when Im better lol

Sounds like my Week Tuesday the fuse box under my hood caught fire melted to nothing. Wednseday went to look at a new truck. A guy 19 with NO INS rear ends me in my wifes car I was also at a dead stop he was doing 40. I feel you on the back pain mine is killing me. And also my wife had her defibulator installed thursday.
 
Thanks for sharing that story man.. I had one of the worst days yesterday Id had in about 5 years, now I feel a bit better.

Two 110' lifts delivered to the wrong site.
Wife was diagnosed with Swine Flue
Another hot water rig went down

Tomorrow, I start 8 buildings and I have 5 days to do them with half my equipment running until parts come in.

Maybe somebody should go to the state legislature to represent us "legitimate" drivers to lobby for more restrictive licenses that will thin the driving pool and "help" the driving community as a whole.

That will fix everything. :p

I have to ask, I'm sorry for all the problems and hope today is going better.

Was this one of those labor for learnings? If it was this is exactly why i caution guys who do this. If your on Adrians site he is responsible for you, you know what else?????? He could also be implicated in the auto policy.

I wouldnt tell your insurance company you were driving home from work.

In Arizona when an employees uses there vehicle for work the employer assumes risk when working at any satilite or job specific locations others than and actaul office. doesnt matter if your off the clock, the insurance companys will just simply say would have happened if you were not there.

I learn this the hard way, I had and office gal years back. No insurance, she hit a car on the way to lunch while driving the other girl with her. i paid for her the others in the car and the city sent me a bill for the signs and clean up that my insurance wouldnt pay.

thanks guys, ron Adrian paid me pretty well to do the carpentry work while he stained, this is on no way his fault, it was my. Sloppyness of not cleaning up my work area and I was at the wrong place at the wrong time on the free way, I have physical therapy for my back Tuesday and a pre surgery meeting Wednesday. Been a long day
