I bet theres alot of phone calls happening right now behind the scenes......I truly wish I knew the in's and out's of whats going on. I wanna join the uamcc but need to know more......Being someone new and small I sure don't wanna waste money. Carlos has been nothing but nice to me personally. He is the only one that has ask me to join. Just once.....No pressure which I personally like. I personally don't buy nothing on impulse......
I just wanna know more.
As far as money back thing ........I disagree. If someone pays, its their fault if it doesn't pan out like they would have liked. That's another reason I have personally not joined. I was pressured into joining the union as a fireman. I waited 15 months to do it so I could find out if its right for me or not. (It was)
I tend not to say much on here or other sites and sit and read. However this really has my attention.

I do have some ?'s
Do the transition team get paid? No they don't get paid and the future board of directors never get paid either

Does anyone get paid? The executive director does and will.

(I Personally don't care if someone gets paid for work.....if its within reason. I know that the tt has put in lots of work.) Its within reason for future ED's and now the ED way below reason
Are the books open to the members? Yes, we have an independent CPA that is working on that right now, he was hired about 2 months ago.
Are the books open to an audit? Yes, they have to be, theres many rules because the UAMCC is a non profit org

Are the phone conferences the tt has open to the members or just the transition team? No the calls are not open. There has been conference calls set up for members to ask questions

How much are members involed in the daily operation? I'm not sure what you mean daily operations. Do we hear from members daily? Usually, we have some member volunteers and committees that come up with ideas to impliment things. It is our hope when the new BOD is in place, there will be many committees, many volunteers.

If work is needed how is it forwarded to the members? On the website, contractor members get notified by the computer, its a program the sends out leads automatically. Contractor picks up to 3 states to srvice and the computer will send those leads, sample leads are sent out at times to make sure its working right.
The RFP's that come in from the RFP agent Go to everyone, by email and sometimes by a post on the BB

Is all work needed forwarded to all the members or just certain one's?
To all members, not to just certain ones. We have tried to put place guards in place, such as the computer program that will insure that all members now and always will get the leads

John, I dont worry about stuff like that, me and you have always been ok and will be ok.

We cant always agree and we wont, thats what makes the world intresting, we must though have a system of checks and balances, like you I made a judgement call, I called it the way I saw it and I will stand behind my feelings just as well, I omitted some stuff so that the appearance would not be personal because its not.

However I said what I said and I feel the same if not more so now that some other things have transpired that have since come to my attention.

Good luck to the industry and you too (John) old buddy! I appreciate you and your willingness to say what you believe in and I will always respect you for that.
Feelings mutual. I always respected your honesty even if I didn't agree with it. To bad the UAMCC could not get a guy like yourself on board but I am a believer in "Never say Never". As always Russ I'll catch you on the Net.....

Russ was stating a fact, plain and simple. You are not calling Russ a LIAR are you? I don't think he would like that or anyone else. Russ and I go back probably further then you do and we don't worry about feelings..we just say it like we see it.

It did not sound like Russ threw Carlos under the Bus, just stated FACT, you can interpret and spin it how you like. Its the way I saw it and I never spin anything. Like Bill O'Rielly where both from the same area Long Island and as he says the Spin stops here.

How can you think what Russ said is "extremely inaccurate and down right damaging" if he was just stating a fact, the truth? You were not there neither was I when he was talking on the phone. I believe Russ, he has integrity and does not try to change or spin things around.Yup agreed. Russ has a ton of integrity. You can learn from him for sure.

So are you saying that all the speakers for the Orlando event have to be uamcc members, even the keynote speaker?????? Think about what you said, that just sounds silly. That is like saying that the guy giving the keynote speach cannot do the speech unless he joins the organization. You completely missed the point here what I was saying. Being a UAMCC member was not a requirement to be a speaker. Never was and I'm sure it never will be. At least I hope not.

Wow, sounds like you need some more sleep and get your thoughts straight. hahahahahahahaYup sleep would be good. Can't argue that. I may be sleeping now while I type this zzzzzzzzzzzz

Lots of people can teach or speak at events, most of the time speakers are not members of some organization.
Yes Very true. You just hope whoever the speaker is he doesn't come out publicly and talk negatively about your org. I think that should make sense to you..I think.

That is probably true, only been doing this for about 15 years but my own business 5.5 years now.

I guess you see it differently but there still is a spin on it, you can try to fool others but not everyone. My dad grew up in Brooklyn and then moved to Long Island so we can see the B.S. from a mile away and see the spin, just like what I see here, maybe others can't but that is ok, we both know what is going on here.

That is very true, he has a lot of integrity, enought to call out B.S. and tell the truth whether people believe the truth or want to see something other than what it is. He can teach you a lot if you open your eyes and see what really happened, if not then that is ok, some people will still see the emperor's new clothes even when shown the truth while people are laughing at them.

Did not miss the point, just pointed out something that I guess you missed. Someone can talk about something without being a member or believing in the organization, people do it all the time. Speakers talk to groups and organizations all the time, they are paid to. A lot of them could care less who pays, just as long as they pay. My point was that you don't feel that russ would be a good speaker because he does not believe in the uamcc. It does not matter if he believes in the uamcc or not, he is talking about cleaning concrete, doing commercial work, etc... That is what a lot of us do so how could it possibly matter if he is talking about what we all have in common if he does not believe in the uamcc when talking about cleaning concrete????? If he is asked to talk about what he does best and likes to do, it does not matter if he believes in the uamcc, just that he does a good job talking about what people want to hear.

Hope that was a little easier for you to get now and understand, if not I can try a different way.

I hope that I would be in an organization that does not do something wrong to be called out about it in the first place to be in that situation.

Everyone is human and makes mistakes. I am sure you can learn from this like we all can.

Good night everyone and the answers await members tomorrow at 2pm eastern. If your a member i suggest you voice your opinions and ask as many questions concerning this issue as well as voice the direction you would like the org to progress if your not satisfied with the current direction.

I thought for a minuite that all sides would get to be involved since you published the number, I dont personally care but I feel by letting all in, it would be a good way for you to get some of the hard questions out of the way

Just to see if I understand this correctly, the number was only meant for the uamcc members or was it for everyone to voice their opinions about a nationwide organization "quarterbacking" deals which most people feel they should not be doing because it is lowballing?

Or

Was it for the uamcc to call and discuss only uamcc things like damage control, what to do about all of this info out there or something else?

Or

Was it to get the facts out on the table, see what that company really was going to pay for an initial cleaning ($300 or $225) for the Roof, yes roof wash, drive thru, sidewalks, dumpster and dumpster pad and see how people feel about that low price?

OR

Was it to just talk and keep the cheerleading going and keep everyone happy?

Just wondering.

Its not about sides, it's to discuss it with the members. I'm sure the UAMCC members will ask some hard questions. Well actually I know they will, they are a good group of contractors

When numbers are said that are way below what is average for work that is being done, that is considered lowballing. Numbers were mentioned and way below what the job is worth.

Once the numbers are put out into the public or all of he uamcc, people will start to understand why some of us don't like it.

Kind of like a nationwide service company going and signing up most of the accounts in your area for $150.00 per building vent hood cleaning done quarterly. Not sure if that is a good price but from what people have told me most of the time a building is at least $300.00 per cleaning. Imagine if they had them locked in at that price for quarterly cleaning after you had been doing them for at least $300. How would that make you feel? That price is probably lower than what you would charge and you might not like doing the work for that price or not do it at all but it lowers the standard in the area you have worked hard for and now that work is down the tubes.

You have not been reading what I have been posting. KEC has been doing this forever, its nothing new. It WILL come full circle, to clean a system for 150 you HAVE to cut corners somewhere. When the place burns down (has happened) or when they see the only thing they have been getting is a hood shine (happens VERY often) they come back at a higher price but getting the job done correctly. Then several years down the road it all happens again.................BIG CIRCLE

Maybe the biggest problem I have with this whole thing is TWS being a member of UAMCC.Is this not the hens letting the fox come in on a cover charge? If these people are as bad as people say and are that cheap then then why could they join?

You are correct...I did contact you Russ because not only myself but alot of people in the industry think that you are great business person and that this contract would be right up your alley. You could service this with your eyes close.

As I said to Jeff and other members of the TT when this first appeared on our radar screen that this would be something good for Russ. They agreed.

I mentioned to you on Monday that yes this opportunity is possibly coming down the pike and I would like to see you get involved with it. You didn't know the details except that it was 2100 locations.

As far as given your money back...Yea...I said that. That is how bad I want you to join Russ. Because I am confident that you would be a fabulous addition to the UAMCCC. I also said that if you did not like what you saw I would happily return your money! If any member has an issue and it warrants us refunding them their money ...I would happily do that. So...by offering this to you is nothing that I wouldn't do for any member.

That nice you admit you did this...Thanks
