Is it fair? As a Non UAMCC member I was given a heads up about the latest contract before the information was released?

Is it fair that I was personally contacted by Carlos Monday concerning the latest contract and given the heads up telling me to join so I can get in on this and promising me that if it didnt work out mu membership dues would be refunded? I say No.

I am not a member and to the current members who I am friends with it is unfair.

I have to ask myself, what if I was a member and in a vail attempt to get someone else to join I am stepped over as well, For example - What if an RFP comes over for bid on several centers and "Joe Doe Contractor" in my area is told ahead of time too, just to gain favor with him? Is this unfair to the actual paid member? Yes

Is this the type of organization you want to be a part of? I say No

Is this fair to all the guys who paid money for exclusive rites to membership benifits? No

I dont think it was meant to be anything more than a way to entice me to join so they would have a heavy hitter on board to secure the deal but at the expense of the other members.

I dont agree and wont agree.

I would want my membership dues back.

You are correct...I did contact you Russ because not only myself but alot of people in the industry think that you are great business person and that this contract would be right up your alley. You could service this with your eyes close.

As I said to Jeff and other members of the TT when this first appeared on our radar screen that this would be something good for Russ. They agreed.

I mentioned to you on Monday that yes this opportunity is possibly coming down the pike and I would like to see you get involved with it. You didn't know the details except that it was 2100 locations.

As far as given your money back...Yea...I said that. That is how bad I want you to join Russ. Because I am confident that you would be a fabulous addition to the UAMCCC. I also said that if you did not like what you saw I would happily return your money! If any member has an issue and it warrants us refunding them their money ...I would happily do that. So...by offering this to you is nothing that I wouldn't do for any member.

I don't get any calls anymore.

My last call was before my roundtable from a "high ranking" member telling me how bad "Mr. Roundtable" is and patiently waiting for me to invite the UAMCC to my RT.

The invite never came.

I thought it would be nice to have a RT subjecting everyone to the Pressure washing "Amway" experience. I haven't been called since. I don't think there was anyone at my RT who hadn't already heard of the UAMCC.

Its been hinted out on the BB's that large jobs may be coming, also that others companies also have called before the UAMCC was launched. It has been said at RT's. Like I said when you called this morning, we like to have you as a member as with everyone, you are a good commercial contractor plain and simple, others have called you, your friends and said you should join over the past couple months. NO name was given what company this contract was when you were called by Carlos or anybody as you told me. No name, it was just hey something may be coming down the pike, it was a generic as one post said CARROT. Maybe the carrots shouldnt be there and it will be something that will be discussed. There was NO intent for any shady deal like I told you, it was said maybe somethings coming as we have saaid at RT's and to others that are thinking of joining. Althou your post makes it sound like it, it something that is furthest from what the UAMCC stands for and we will learn every day and make corrections, change things and add things and always be for the contractor and as I said to you , thats one of the reasons I wanted you to join because you've been around and your insight would be an asset. I'm always straight up with you Russ, you know that, as I am with everyone. I answered many of your questions this morning, if you have any more you know you can call me anytime. Sorry you will never join, thats a decision we all make on many things. Thanks for the call

Have a good day

I have been doing multiple retail location's in different states for 15 yrs and no one called me? I must be out of the loop, but i do agree with the Heavy Hitter that if there is work out there that someone wants to pass on, then it should be done thru a selective process.

It should be done on proven work and quality of service, also being able to handle the logistics of doing this type of work. I am sure many of us on this board can handle this work but when you throw in travel and multiple states you can probably count the number of contractors on 1 hand that could handle this.

I dont think you should have to join any org to be part of a network of professionals willing to share knowlege and work!! Thats why PWI works well for all of us!!

I never heard about a money back guarantee Carlos, that is something to seriously consider.

Thanks for letting us know that members can get their money back if they are not happy.

I being a simple guy from South Louisiana would assume if the desire is to grow membership then the heads up would have been sent to all the members of these boards and not just a select few "Heavy Hitters".

I read Fenners post and it makes sense and then this.I know we need a voice but I would hate to know the voice is the sound that the big predator companies use to home in on us and wipe us out with the huge contracts that are being proposed.

I bet theres alot of phone calls happening right now behind the scenes......I truly wish I knew the in's and out's of whats going on. I wanna join the uamcc but need to know more......Being someone new and small I sure don't wanna waste money. Carlos has been nothing but nice to me personally. He is the only one that has ask me to join. Just once.....No pressure which I personally like. I personally don't buy nothing on impulse......
I just wanna know more.
As far as money back thing ........I disagree. If someone pays, its their fault if it doesn't pan out like they would have liked. That's another reason I have personally not joined. I was pressured into joining the union as a fireman. I waited 15 months to do it so I could find out if its right for me or not. (It was)
I tend not to say much on here or other sites and sit and read. However this really has my attention.

I do have some ?'s
Do the transition team get paid?
Does anyone get paid?

(I Personally don't care if someone gets paid for work.....if its within reason. I know that the tt has put in lots of work.)

Are the books open to the members?
Are the books open to an audit?
Are the phone conferences the tt has open to the members or just the transition team?
How much are members involed in the daily operation?
If work is needed how is it forwarded to the members?
Is all work needed forwarded to all the membersor just certain one's?

I'm sure finance is in order, question the TT team about the money is not and issue.

If your asking if these are things that are public record I beleive that Carlos has said statements are availiable.

The question is should our national org be quarterbacking a deal?

I think a bad decision was made, probably because the uamcc wanted a larger multi state vendor available to handle large contracts if and when they came up. I would be willing to bet the mistake wont be made again and if it is then there is a problem,if a org is going to be facilitaing contracts it needs to be fair to all invloved and let the vendors decide who they are going to hire or look at. I think the first mistake is gettig in bed with a nationwide outsourcing company who are essentially low ballers in the industry. I thought the uamcc was founded on the principle of combating the lowball mentality that permeates the industry.

As far as I know its not the first time, I will let the other party speak up if he wants too, his situation was similar but happened a couple of months ago. I did not believe it at the time but now I see things from his perspective.

I agree, I thought the uamcc was against the lowballers and hacks so how could they be in bed with a company that is basically lowballing everyone that is /was/want to be cleaning the Jack In The Box locations?

I thought it was about raising the standards, not participating in a nationwide lowballing situation.
