Photos of the custom Hotbox and trailer setup

I think it may be cheaper to do a coil over a coil, one fuel tank, and one driver 2 pumps (still compact). You would then have redundancy for your heating.

Heating 10gpms at that temp you need about 6 to 7 gph of fuel per boiler.

The coil was a double coil in each 1 burnner per coil. still need to cross the T's and dot the I's need to do more homework. weight was another issue in the plan. its just a project we want to work on.weather it works or not. well it will work but if it doesnt look cool well????

good looking rig, my only problem with setups like that that have one engine to run 2 or more pumps is if the engine quits, blows up, or starts stuttering and missing then your down for good. Yes its more economical to have one engine turn 2 pumps however I feel better knowing that we have a backup if one machine goes down

Joe, you can get the coils that are already engineered, designed and made by Landa that are ready to go for all kinds of things, give Jim in California a call.

He was telling me about his coil that puts out more BTU's and gets the water hotter than mine with the same amount of fuel, it is just very, very efficient. I would do that before trying to rig something up or..........

Use a small coil to heat the water before it got into the larger coil because most of the coils out there will only give you 110 to 120 degrees heat rise over ambient temperature. You don't want the water going into your pumps over 100 or 120 degrees because of the packing issues. Call Jim, he will tell you all about this and more.

That is 2 engine, 2 pump, 2 boiler/burner, one tank diesel, one tank gas but on one frame.

It almost seems that it has 2 of everything, even 2 water tanks.

that is sweet! I think im leaning more twards what chris is saying. one coil, then wrap another coil over that losts on insulating and the water will stay in the heat longer giving you more heat rise.but side by side (6'wide) i will look him hip chris thanks how was the RT?

Nigel, is that your rig?

No Tom lol. Very similar, the only difference is to individual frames, one tank same manufacturer.

That is the design of the bigger alkota coils, the fist company to do it was Largo. (thats what their engineer told me), Mighty M has an awesome down draft burner, and landa took it one step further and have two downdraft burners on one of their models.

The Vegas Round Table was Great!

We got to pop gum outside in 60 degree weather at nite with Jim's rig and it got up to 312 degrees, that was cool!

During the day at the Round Table I am not sure how hot it got but one time I looked and it was around 280.

I wish I could afford one of those high-tech burners but that is out of my league right now. They do have scaled-down versions so I might be looking into that later on down the road but need to make some money first before I even go talk to them about something like that.

We learned a lot of great things at the Vegas Round Table and can't wait for the next one! I will spend more time there next time so I can see some of the sights as this time was only for learning and hanging around with Tony and Jim and Matt.

Vegas is very cool, I want to go back there very soon!
