We have a 2 bedroom apartment in Jackson that we use for an office , this is where we stay most of the time. We have 2 houses in the country both belong to my wifes family.. 1 ) we use 1 house for a shop and storage I usually go by there every couple of days and Mr Mack watchs out the house while I am gone. The second house is going to be renovated it is in Benton Mississippi , I just dont have the cash right now Anyway I like it at home , I can watch tv while I work..

I don't see our industry as a "store front" type of business. It's not like you get walk ins just shoppin' around for a good pressure washin' guy. However, presence is never a bad thing in terms of marketing. Until a year and a half ago, our residence housed our office and we rented 3000 sq. ft. cold storage and a small office in the same building. $450/month....REALLY CHEAP! It was convenient for housing vehicles, trailers, etc., but 10 minutes across town. Everytime I looked for a tool at home, it was at the shop. It was nice in terms of employees meeting there instead of our house. We did get exposure from passing traffic.

1 1/2 years ago we purchased a 5 acre property with a 3500 sq. ft. shop, complete with office. The house is smaller than we had, but hey......the shop really, really works for us. Of course, 2 stocked ponds, whitetail deer daily, privacy, ya da ya da ya da, helps too!

So now I'm home based. I conduct meetings in our office and it's apart from our private residence, so it doesn't have the same feel as home based.

Spring is near.

Store front wasnt really meant as "Retail Store Front".....alot of properties have warehouse/office space and I think that this is what anthony meant. They are usually industrial parks that have and office in the front with drive in doors in the rear. They just simply have a store front feel, but without the formal store front space.....

Is that going to be your house also?

Grant - that was just mean-don't pick on Russ like that.

im new to this but i heard your landlod is your secrect partner

We have a 3000 sq ft heated shop that we share between the two businesses but our office is actually in a 600 sq ft finished space over my garage. I didn't want the costs assciated with keeping an office "live" sorta-speak.

I have plans to buy a piece of land and build a warehouse center. maybe 30 bays with 5 offices. Ill use one and rent the rest to local businesses. I like real estate and would rather own it than lease it. But once we get bigger, the extra space will definatley be nice. And Houston is so huge that it would be rediculous to have an employee drive 60 miles just to pick up a truck/trailer.

I have a yard in glendale AZ and a shop downtown phx.

I have coverted my old home into a shop in the east valley. We moved the office from the phx location for safety reasons.

I have alot of space and growth potential. I own all the buidings and rent apts. at two locations to current employees.

If the valley grows i will buy another, we have a place in tucson for storage but no official shop. If something breaks major we take one down and bring another back.

That Is A Nice House Hugh, We Are In The Process Of Building A House, And The Neighborhood Will Not Allow A Detached Garage Or Outbuilding, So I'm Wondering If Storing Sh Or Acid Base Degreaser Would Be A Problem In A 3 Car Garage.someone With Some Knowledge Of This Should Post Something.
