Camelot By The Sea

JL Pressure Washing
I have put bids in for 12 high rises, with a few different companies this year for winter work. I have one already for January brrrrrrrr

This is a picture & link to one we start this Monday. Camelot By the Sea. http://www.oceanaresorts.com/hotels/camelot We are doing the entire building and 10 story garage. We rigged it yesterday and will be washing Monday morning. Its a rigging PITA for sure, but we got a good system built. Its a Monster, but not the biggest of the ones we have bid on

My guys, most of them, really like the high rise work, I think its the challenge and to be able to say they did it. I don't care as much for it. It's good money, but a lot to worry about, lot to think about and weather plays havoc on the scheduling of them sometimes. But it sure can give you some good satisfaction when its all said and done

This place is extremely dirty and tons of mildew on the front, it will clean up nice

That's a sweet looking project Jeff. Look forward to seeing some before, during and after shots of this one!

If you can, get some video of the cleaning Jeff, that would be good to see.

I stayed in a hotel jeff cleaned and it was nicer than the others I had stayed in at Myrtle beach! I highly recommend JL cleaned properties to vacation in.

This gives me ideas!!

You mean something like this. http://www.cleanandgreensolutions.com/odor-removal-honda-cars-katy-texas/ That is a post I made on my web site a few weeks back. I also have a couple I will be making within the next couple weeks. One is for an auto repair shop that has me clean the concrete surfaces once a month and also had me go clean a customers driveway this week due to a new emplyees installing an oil filter wrong and causing oil to leak in her driveway and garage. The other is for BMW dealership that did the same exact thing. I will post pics and write article about how great their customer service is.

Congrats Jeff thats quite a project. You are the king of High Rise Cleaning!

Thanks Paul, but I dont want to be the king of highrises. This job is kicking my butt. Two days had to shut down because the restaurant next door with outside patio didn't like bleach on their customers burgers LOL. We have the rigging down pat, but its still quite elaborate and time consuming

My foreman is down to about half a hand, poor guy cant keep his hands out of his way, blood blisters, smashed fingers etc etc. I have been on the job almost the whole time and busting my butt too. We are about 2 days behind what I wanted but still within the time frame I gave

The one good thing, is its looking beautiful. There is some extreme mildew but with some strong chems and elbow grease its looking great. The property had someone clean areas of it a couple years ago and they did a chit job. The GM & Head Of Maint are amazed and they are cutting back on what they thought would need to be painted after we are done. Theres a few stains that arent coming out, but they had planned and budgeted to paint 50% of the place. If they have to paint 10% of it, I would be surprised.

I always say life is good, but damn if my, shoulders, arms, hands, feet and brain don't hurt this week.
Next 4 weeks we have easy 1, 2 & 3 story buildings, no more high rises until 2012 YAY

Wait until you need to have John Deer tractor parts installed in both of your shoulders to hold them together like me.
Then you will really love the line of work we chose for ourselves.
mmmmmmmmmmm bleach burgers, nothing builds up the immune system like bleach burgers and rings.

About 6-7 years ago I had to have a series of treatments, they shot some long needle into my spine or around it because I couldn't lift my arms anymore without severe pain. The treatment worked great and I have never had the pain again. But also I dont do the physical stuff anymore, but on a rigging job like this I needed to step in to speed it up and make it safe. John Deere parts OUCH

Bleach burgers, it was actually funny the 2nd day my guys went up 19 stories and I told them to spray water to see where the wind wpould take it, YUP all over the customers, people were running bumping into each other. The guys in the swing stage were laughing thier as*es off. I had to go over and tell everyone it was just water. It was kind of funny, but I hated the down time

Here's our rigging rolling in. You can see how dirty & moldy the building is in the background, it actually looked worse in person, It was filthy. It took 2, 3, 4 more applications of strong chem and in many places we applied straight chem, brushed, used some pressure too.

The before & after pictures just dont do justice. The pictures just didnt come out good, I am bumming out. The worst areas were horrible and now they look AMAZING. They are having the annual Home Owners meeting this weekend and many owners came out and said what a great job and difference we made.

This job was a bear, but man it cleaned up pretty

Putting together the swing stage and rigging. This was a counterweight system we built because there was no built in anchor system on the roof and it was a lot of work to move and set up. Needed extra long beams you can see we had 4 sections of beams and bolted them together and doubled them up in areas. What made this even tougher was that it had to beam out 8 feet past the faux roof
We had to have 2000lbs on each beam as the main weight on each of the two beams and OSHA required 5000lbs as a safety tieback on each beam. I got a picture of the we metal weights, man my crew busted their butts

Here's just some of the weights, they are real finger bangers if you arent careful. Everything goes on plywood or wood planks to protect the roofs. There was a building inspector on the property doing an annual inspection and I saw him taking pictures on the roof. I asked him what he was doing and he said taking pictures to show other properties. He said usually when contractors are on these roofs they never protect the roofs. He wanted to show the properties the way it should be done. He asked for a bunch of our business cards to pass out.
