:confused: i need help with zebra markings on cement whats the best way not to make them also whats the bestway to get rid of them im using my hot water but i need some help from someone out there if you could help me that would be great please e-mail me ezdayman@yahoo.com

zebra marking happen when you are going to fast. What chemical are you useing.
 
i bought

i bought a 20" cleaner today so i think my zebra markings will not happen?? whats the best chemical to use near a pool on cement? this customer is having a party on sat and wants the cement to look great? what the best way to get this cement clean? " the cement has high foot traffic markings and there is a trees near by so it has some sap and junk like that on the cement please let me know

Slow down you walking speed behind the surface cleaner..the stripes want happen
Use just plain hot water...no chem. really needed...
Rinse "away from" the pool...push dirty water to the grass etc.
If some of the dirty water gets in the pool...not to worry...the pool filtering system and chlorine in the pool will take care of it...
 
This might be a little off topic here but this post brings to mind which surface cleaner size is really the best. I have in my arsenal a 30",27" and a now permantely broken 24" which served its purpose over the last 9 yrs.

I am debating on purchasing a 20" landa surface cleaner in the future because of Ron Musgraves and Scott Stone stating that the 20" size is the best to use because you don't loose any time using that size and that size cleans the best. There's mathematics thats used to explain this which Scott explained awhile ago. Just a thought...........

I have a Landa WaterJet...and can say it is an excellent machine!! Is especially a good size ( 20" ) for residential work. Sometimes however on a larger driveway etc..I think I would like a 24" Steel Eagle...The 30" Steel Eagle would be just to big for my purpose most of the time. Think I will put the 24" on my Christmas List.......
 
Mitm makes a much nicer surface cleaner than the steel eagle. I know, I have one of each. Steel eagle just looks sharber but for working and ease of use, Mitm is the one I'd choose. Yes it's a little more expensive but it comes ready to use, steel eagle does not.
 
How about a picture of the Mitm surface cleaner and does it have the same top of the line swival that Landa's surface cleaner has?

As for Landa and Mitm Powerwashers I like them both which is the reason why I have one of each.
 
The coolest surface cleaner I saw was a Hydrotek unit that Tom Vogel was demonstrating. I'm not sure what the size was......it was at least 20 inches.....perhaps 24. It has a water broom attached to the top front of it........and also a gum nozzle on the left side. It was set up with two trigger guns..........one for the spinner...........and another for the water broom/gum nozzle. I had an opportunity to do a flatwork job with this unit........and I was impressed with it. It worked really well on the gum too........and with a quickness.
 
Thanks!! Mr Alan for asking the question of Justin..."why is the Steel Eagle not ready to use?"...I was wondering the same thing but didn't ask. Also John's question about the type of spinner is an excellent one as well....
 
The steel eagle doesn't come shipped with a gun or a shut off valve or even quick conncts. I've owned and sold steel eagles and everyone I have received, I have had to put fittings on. Again, they look good but that's about it... Not saying they wont work because they do but they have poor spinner bars that bend. Mitm is Aluminum spinners that don't bend and they have a trigger gun ready to hook up, build into the handle. Another nice thing about the Mitm is the fact that they have a splash guard around the edges.

Mike, you are happy with the steel eagle and I'm happy with mine also. But if you've only ever owned a steel eagle, comparing it to other surface cleaners is hard to do. I've seen the Hydrotech, I've owed a whisper, landa, Mitm, steel eagle and demod bobs badboy. The badboy is hands down better than steel eagle. Out of all of the above, Steel eagle is the best priced spinner. They are also the cheapest quality, I know I've had many spinners. But I have sold them. Will I continue to sell them?... probably not because they just don't come ready to use.
 
I understand what you're saying. As far as coming ready to use, I don't think having to install a QC is a reason to buy or not buy a peice of equipment.

As far as it being cheaply made, I don't see in what way. Please clarify...The housing is sturdy, the rotary union is the best....

Granted, it doesn't come with a gun, but I don't use it, and some I've talked to who do a lot of flatwork don't like the gun attachment either.

One thing I like about mine is the single handle...makes it much easier to maneuver and handle with one hand.
 
Ok, the housing is simply aluminum just like other spinners. The handle is steel with paint on it. There's a cheap steel bushing they poorly weld to the handle. It's no really a good high pressure fitting. The hose is 1/4". The swivel is good cost as much or more than the rest of it. There's no good place to put a gun on the fitting welded to the bars and if you are going to use a shut off, it has to be quick connected because there's no room around the fitting. The spinner bars are cheasy. They bend easily and come out of alignment more often than others. They come shipped but you have to add parts. Anything that requires to to ad parts that you can't find at your local home depot store, is not real handy. I have a 28" and it's bulky to move around. Other than that, they are a fine unit. Oh, the nozzles aren't Spraying Systems, they are some cheap brand.

Aside from the entire unit.... Oh, the paint rusts easy on the handle. Aside from the swivel which is Dueblin, nothing else is real good quality. Let's call it a Steele Dueblin. :)

That's my opinion from use. Making a surface cleaner isn't brain surgery. It's a swivel and bars, a handle and some sort of houseing to protect from splash. These can be made cheaply and quickly and will all work very similiar. The difference is the ease of use, weight, workability, quality of parts, storage, maintenance. Other than that, they are all the same thing.
