Your mix

Russ was right to about putting 3 gal of store bleach in a 5ver. i just figuerd out i shot my neighbors house with about .75%. it still took of all the green. melted right off. thank so much.

Sorry, total newbie question, but Im a bit confused.....how would I break down the 12.5% into ounces if Im using chlorine powder? I know with SC its 8oz for 1.5gal of water, but they also say 3.5 gal of 12.5% chlorine. I guess I dont understand how to get that mixture.

Thanks for any help w/ me figuring this out...Im a bit slow at times

Do not use the powder. The powder is calcium hypochlorite. you need sodium hypochlorite. SH is in liquid form. You can get it at various strengths 12.5%, 10%, 6%(household bleach). Find the right chemicals and everything will make sense.

Ok. That makes sense. Just curious, is the powder form useful for anything other than pool cleaning, and is it any more or less toxic than the liquid....further do you all only use the liquid form?

Thanks again

I use 12% and dawn or tide. Tide works really well....

Power House and 15% Pool Chlorine is what we use (Diluted of course).

I'm not interested in arguing with anyone but if I was using dawn or some other home made recipe to wash houses I sure wouldn't post it on BBS's where my clients could see it. I'm a professional and I charge for my services. Why charge top dollar to do a job then cut use dawn or palmolive?

To me that says I want to charge you every dime I can but I won't spend the extra money for the good stuff to do the job.

If your clients are paying top dollar for your services they deserve more than dawn or palmolive.

Just my opinion of course

Insect protection??? what do you mean Chris

I would think from what you have said about TSP, you might have problems with windows
Borax controls Insects Jeff http://www.naturalhandyman.com/linkslibrary/boraxlink.html
Another SELLING POINT :)
Small amounts of TSP do not seem to be a problem with TSP.

Ameritech is a Large Tampa Pressure Washing Supply Company.
Chuck, the owner was once a cleaner like us.
He suggests Bleach and TSP for a cleaning mix.

I have cleaned many a house chemically w/o pressure.
I dont even OWN a freaking pressure washer.
Scares my customers !!
They think I may use it on their roof.

We have switched over to the new "Apple Cider" Jeff.

Basically, it is bleach, Ajax, and rubbing alcohol.

This is our roof cleaning mix, and we just dilute it down for cleaning houses.

It works fine, and so did regular "Apple Sauce".

I suggest adding a little Borax to ANY house cleaning mix.

You can claim insect control, and be telling some truth

It is LESS Toxic, because it is Calcium Hypochlorite as opposed to Sodium Hypochlorite.
Plants are killed TWO ways with Sodium Hypochlorite.
One, by being oxidized, and Two - by salt posioning.
Salt from SODIUM, so remove the Sodium by using Calcium ...
Get the picture ?
The powder is not as water soluble, but in theor should be less damage to plants :)
