After receiving my new PWNA package that was unsolicited today,i figured out why Blastmaster mag didnt make it.

After receiving Cleaner Times mag. for the last year i noticed it exclusively catered to the janitorial industry which is why i was not interested in the mag and never subscribed.

All of a sudden and 3 months since the demise of Blastmaster magazine PWNA reveals a new BBS,and Cleaner Times reveals a magazine that consists entirely of powerwashing advertisements, with the headliner being the PWNA association
with not one ad being envirospec's space.

i am not complaining of the 180 degree turn around of Cleaner Time's content but you can clearly see it took longer than 3 months to orchestrate the content that it has converted to,this was not an overnight decision.

another notation of mine was the fact that Beth has been promoting PWNA stating no compensation for her statements (which may be true) but in an article written by Mrs. Borrego for Cleaner Times mag called "a force to contend with "(which by the way Beth i considered to be an outstanding article) was closed by saying "PWNA ......CONTRACTED..... with Beth Borrego to write this article"

it is not my intentions to offend anyone with this post, after all i could be suffering from disallusions from working too much.

i would however like some insight as too what happened and why we didnt know it was happening.

The PWNA has a column (article) published in every issue of Cleaner Times........written by various people, in this case, Beth.

The above did not happen because of the unfortunate passing of Blastmaster Magazine..........we had the PWNA Today column before that.

I fail to see this transformation you are referring to. I just glanced at the issue (havent had a chance to read it yet). When was the last time you cleaned a pipeline? It seems geared in the same direction, with some positive changes being made. I'm sure Cleaner Times is doing their very best to please everyone...........which is tough.

As for Beth's recent verbal (typed) support of the PWNA, that was "unsolicited". Beth selflessly devotes herself to educating others, and has VOLUNTEERED to teach this seminar in Pittsburgh. She is going out of her way to help this industry and the PWNA, and I applaud her for it.

I look forward to reading her article and attending her seminar.

Let's be REAL CLEAR here about one thing. I noticed the Editor's POOR choice of words too. And I am planning on asking her to add a corrective statement in the next issue.

I was not "contracted" I have NOT been paid, ever, by either PWNA OR Cleaner Times for contributing the article to their magazine. In fact, that article was due to run in the July issue of BlastMaster, had Lee not pulled the plug. All I did was email it when I was approached to write, by the PWNA.

Anyone here who wants to bash, beware. I am a very giving person, and tolerate alot. And, I am being truthful....

I was not contracted, there is nothing in writing or verbal for any money whatsoever.

That should end THAT.

Beth

p.s. sorry if I am a tad cranky, but I got 2 hours of sleep after a night job.

not bashing anyone,i realize you devote a lot of time and effort to this industry and i appreciate your time and enjoy reading your work,i for one have learned many things from your contributions alone,

this post is not neccessarily about you,but some of the conflicting statements that i see posted, which as i see it was a poor choice of words,by the editor,i merely just pointed it out.

with all the controversy over blastmaster mag. i was real suprised that no one mentioned cleaner times were changing there format to cater to the pressure wash industry,if it was posted i apologize i missed it

I still fail to see how cleaner times has changed anything. They have always had articles from time to time that are geared towards the pressure washing industry. For example, last year there were a couple of articles written by Scott Stone.

Each issue is different, its a crap shoot. Articles don't grow on trees, if you feel there needs to be more pressure washing content, contact the editor of Cleaner Times and write an article yourself.........I'm sure they'd be tickled. You dont even have to be a stellar writer........they can edit it to make it more presentable, if necessary.

I have been contacted by people from all over the world, not just the USA regarding Blastmaster and it's amazing to me the number of people who want me to pick up the proverbial ball and keep running with it where that is concerned.

I may well do it, but right now I have to focus on a few other things, so the question of if I decide to take that step is a mute point.

It's very unfortunate that Lee could not hold on any longer, and that her friend was as sick as she was. Lee had a tough decision to make. On the one hand her dream was beginning to take off and she was thrilled. On the other a life long friend was dying before her eyes and Lee felt she could make a difference by working for an organization geared towards helping others with kidney ailments. I was not in a position to move to the magazine any faster than I was due to work obligations from tthe company I worked for or from our own company's needs. There were not enough hours in the day for me to juggle all three. As I reached a point of moving away from the software world and asked Lee for more solid information about Blastmaster in order to make an informed business decision regarding taking it over, she folded it up and failed to provide me with some very critical information I did in fact request in order to take it over if approved by my accountant. Take from that what you will. The 'why' of it I simply can't answer.

It's just the way it all unfolded.

Beth

Its a shame it worked out that way. If you have any way to get a hold of her mailing list, you would have a great start if you decide to pick up where she left off.

The above quote is from Mike Hughes to Tim Hays.

Tim about two years ago I wrote an article for Cleaner Times' that in one sense had nothing to do with pressure washing directly yet the subject I wrote about was being talked about on the boards.

It was about UNIFORMS and was welcomed and published without a word from others that I was paid for it, heck I would love to be paid cash for it but the way I got paid was in the friends I meet here and on other boards and the Emails I get.

That to me is better then money since you cannot buy friends.

The PWNA as any organization has good and bad, has room for improvement and that takes time and members which it sorely needs more of.

Now I can just hear you asking why I am not a member, I was at one time and have given thought to rejoining. I just don't rush out and do things like I used to before discussing it and going over the pro and con first.

Beth has a life too, she loves to dance with her hubby and I sometimes wonder how they find time with all the things that she does for free, for the love of helping others and for her friends.

Tim I am not picking on you, just pointing out that we all have different points of view and should be clear about them.

Jon

your right on all accounts.

everybody have a nice weekend.

maybe that movie Conspiracy Theory got me thinking way too much.

I havent seen that movie since it came out. I liked the way he had his whole apartment rigged to burn to a crisp while he escapes thru a trap door under the nightstand.
