Work for you?

Parker

New member
I have two jobs in Southern California and one job in Eugene Oregon.
Not looking to sub anything out just looking for a good reference for an account that has been good to me!

Don't bother if:
-you are a one man crew
-I can spit more pressure than the pressure washer you use
-your a pressure washer and think this is your chance to get into hood cleaning
-your idea of insurance is carrying an extra $20.00 in your truck
-your average cleaning takes 27 minutes
-you drive a car to the job, pull out a spray bottle and a rag, and say "Let's get to work Dammit!"

Seriously, the jobs are in mall locations so your insurances must be in order and there is a good oppurtunity to grab all the restaurants in malls.

Let me know if your interested, promise me you will do a good job, and I will give you the details and send you out to write up your own estimate!

I would be intrested

For you, I can have one of my guys bring their wife along(they may have to bring along the kids too but I promise they will stay in the truck)
-I can spit more pressure than the pressure washer you use
You can't spit more pressure than we use but you may be able to piss more.
-your a pressure washer and think this is your chance to get into hood cleaning
How dare you call us pressure washers!!
-your idea of insurance is carrying an extra $20.00 in your truck
No way, all of my guys carry an extra $100, we are no small time operation.
-your average cleaning takes 27 minutes
Are you counting set up and break down?

Absolutely NOT!! All of my guys are required to carry a pump-up sprayer(we stopped using spray bottles years ago), 2 rags and a scraper in to each job. We beleive that first impressions are really important.

I hope that these requirements will meet your standards.

Parker - at 11 mpg I always charge top dollar for that "good first impression".

I try to teach you what a proper vehicle is and you pick one dressed up with a bow tie, ready for prom. Of course, that is about all they are good for...

Matt has the best trunk mounted units in town, so do not be fooled by his pump up sprayer above. Here is a real machine.

Mbryan,

I am sorry but the condition of your sprayer way overqualifies you for this kind of work. It is impressive however to see your company hold such high, nay unobtainable standards for equipment care and maintanence. Shame on you for making the rest of us look so badly!

cgibson,

I heard a rumor that some guy was buying up hood cleaning companies and paying in Chevy truck. Is it true? I also heard he was giving away T-shirts that says "I sold my hood cleaning company and all I got was this lousy truck!" :)

I also heard a rumor that some guy was walking into restaurants giving hood cleaning estimates and if the manager said no thanks, the guy would grab the manager, stick his head under the tire of his huge truck, and rev his engine until the manager changed his mind. Rumor has it he is a very successful hood cleaning salesman, on the count of that he is so persuasive! :)

jschessler,

If those malls are a pain, then you ain't charging enough! The only work that is a pain is the work you didn't feel was worth it after you have finished. Malls are hectic for many reasons like; the security gaurd wants to watch me while I work on the roof, or access is sometimes difficult, but if the cash justifies the difficulty of the job then for me, a pain those malls are not!

One correction: The job in Oregon is in Medford not Eugene.
So far no takers on that one! Come on, I don't want to take a drive up to Eugene for some hoods. Although I could throw the family in the motorhome, hit the redwoods and coast, and make a fun trip out of it. Towing a hood cleaning truck behind my motorhome might look a little funny though.

not charging enough? hmmm , let me see . I wanna say you missed the point, but then you redem yourself by what I meant. They are a pain in the butt. Regarless of what they pay.

The biggest pain is the insurance. I just had a long time customer tell us that the mall they are in is now requiring and extra $2 mil in some other extra insurance ( I dont even know what it was called but is was above and beyond the liability) I gave him Facilitecs number and told him it was the only company I knew of in LA that would carry that kind of insurance (sorry Grant if you guys have this). Whos cares anyway right? I am going to be "assimilated in to the collective" pretty soon anyway so why fight it.

Jschessler,

Well thank god I "redemmed" myself. Is that one notch above redEEming myself?

"regar(d)less of what they pay"- a statement like that smells of ingorance. Under that presumption if I did a small one hour job, in a mall mind you, and it paid $10,000 than would I be complaining to anyone on this board about those mall jobs being a pain? I think not.

So what's it worth to you for that mall job to not be a pain. Hmmm,....That is my point.

Mbryan,

We now carry $5 million, up from three million for certain malls that required it. Tacked that on to the price for the hood cleaning though. Not cheap but as long as it is not out of pocket to me than no problem (or pain) for me!

Assimilation? C'mon, fight the man! Ahhh, your proabably right, I don't know how much fight I have left in me either! Anyone want to buy a ten truck company on the other half of Caleefornia?
