Hello everybody !

Even so i dont wash trucks and dont want to do it,looks like its gonna have to be my winter job.

This company wants me to give them a price on washing their trucks, they are currently paying $57 for truck and trailer, sounds very low but what do i know.
They are taking their trucks somewhere to have them washed.Instead they want someone come out to their location and clean them. They told me no acid, hot water, laundry det or degreaser only. Not sure what reasults can you get from this, probably not much,or you all would never 2 step. However if they are happy with just that why not .
I would appreaciate a standart price ,tractor with engine clean ,and trailer seperate.
Thanks alot

johny, im having a hard time reading your post.
I think your saying you cant use acid.
Laundry detergent is a good way to dry out the paint on trucks and not reccomended. But i will say DAWN will sure wash up a truck.
How meny trucks are we talking about?
Do you have water on the job site?
Are you a one man show?
Is everything painted and chrome or Aluminum?
Why are they affraid of acid? it gets nuet. with the soap and degreasing will cause more harm in the run off then the acid.
Do you need to re-claim the water?
How often do they need to be washed?
How meny trucks? Are they single axles, duel axles,sleepers,ect...
How long are the trailers? Do they get washed every time the truck's do?
If they are paying a person to take them off site, plus waiting time, plus fuel. Then getting $60 to 65 a rig might not be out of line.
Do you have to move each truck?
Sounds like this is going to be the type of washing your going to need 3 people to do.
One with a brush, one with a wash mitt's, and one with the pressure washer.
What are the average winter temps where you are?
I would use Delco's R109 as my soap.
Use there W200 wax in my downstreamer with a duel lance to apply and rinse. Then use envriospecs limonlene as a degreaser and on the stack juice. Apply that with a shur-flo pump and wand set-up.
$80 for 55 gal. of degreaser is pretty cheap. Not a lot of people know how well this stuff works on engines[do not use on aluminum]
Here is one more trick for you to try out.
2 stepping with 2 types of detergent's.
Use e-specs CITRA-SOLV in the downstreamer[use a duel lance] as step 1 then use hot upsteam R109 to wash[step 2] and see if you get good results.
If you give this a try, you wont need the limonlene as a degreaser for the motors just use the CITRA-SOLV.

Good reply Ron

I didnt know there are so many questions to be asked.I am still not sure if i want this, but i will give it a chance, winter is coming.

Average temp i guess is 40-50,if freezes in the morning ,by lunch its almost always 40

Thanks alot

Trucks

Johny, I have a customer that owns a truck wash (inside) that is located about 35 miles away from me. Come down one day and we can go over to their place and you can get some insite on how it is done. I am headed that way today to help them with a few things to speed up things for them. Let me know and we could go one day next week.
