winco pulley size

The engine on ebay is Chinese...rememver the generator?

If it's the 15 hp Kohler you're looking at, let me say this...Kohler builds a helluva engine, but I do have a customer who has had exhaust issues. The mufflers fall apart. He also had a governor gear failure, not sure of the cause.

Ok I got it so that long block is not a honda part ... I just figured that out.. If a motor has a 1 inch shaft and turns 3600 rpm I guess I could go 13 hp or even 16 hp .. This way if i get a bigger motor as far as HP it would put less stress on the motor right ? I wish I could be like Ron or one of the other rich guys and just say well my motor blew up guess I will go buy a new 8000.00 machine , but unfourtantly I have alot of bills... So trying to find a easy solution.. I called a friend of mine whose dad works on lawnmowers he said he would look at it in the morning but if he did fix it , he couldn't garuntee it.. He also said if I buy the motor from you for 650.00 he would put the electric start off of my old motor on the new one for 100.00 ... So will see what happens monday... Also what do you recon a gx390 long block ( true honda motor would ) cost just out of curiosity , since I am under the strange impression that I can actually put all the other stuff on it... LOL

www.MaxTool.com has a 4,400 watt gen automatic start for 479 free shipping if you truley flashed the field and she didnt charged she done. some generators do not have flash field capability.

He would still get 3600RPM, without a pulley...ie: direct drive

Only if the drive side pulley is the same as the generator side pulley.

Well I am going another route it looks like . I took my gx 390 apart and the damage was done to the connecting end of the rod. I checked the piston and blck and all looks good. So tomorrow we are going to check on repair cost.. I also go to thinking about all the things wrong with th machine .. Bad Generator head, now Bad Motor , Pump has been rebuilt twice and is 6 years old..So now I think if I cant get the Honda rebuilt I am getting another pressure washer.

Ok today is fix the machine day .. I am going to cruise around town this morning and ask some folks about the Honda motor.. Then I am going to go to Mississippi engine and see what they have.. Then I am going to bypass Harbour freight (LOL) and go to Mel Luna Small engine in Pearl Mississippi where they sell and service Robin Subaru and Honda as well as Kohler I believe and see what they have ... Any how no matter what I got to get something done today or I will lose around 2300 dollars this week and possibly a new account that I just got and haven't even cleaned yet..
I guess right now the big concern is getting a motor as quick as possible . I guess at worst case if I have to work tonight I can rent a stinger 1 whitco down the street at isc for about 55.00 a day..Well I am waiting for the shops and stores to open..

Russ would you like to hire me to scout out good deals on stuff .. Just kidding ... Hey I got a funny story about my honda motor.. My brother in law calls and says go look in the shed at the farm in Benton and look at the tiller..OMG its a 13 hp , 1inch shaft Honda.. Its old and looks a little different but I think it may work... I will take a photo of it as soon as this nasty weather breaks... My brother in laws first suggestion was go to Harbour Freight...LOL .. Why ??? So anyway I think the carb is shot on this old honda and this gas is probably 6 years old or more, it has a funny smell and the oil is pitch black ... Got a lot of work to do on it tommorrow..

I got the subaru coming.. But i got intrested last night and started reading about chinese motors.. Some are really cheap heck even harbour frieght has one on sale for 300.00 13 hp with electric start.. They offer a 2 year replacement plan for an extra 40.00.. WOW!! I also looked at a couple of other places there is one 11 hp or 13 hp for 400.00 that comes with a 1 year replacement warranty and offers a cast iron sleeve. These look to be just like Hondas , and Briggs Motors.. I read how the labor is real cheap in china and all and how it plays a major factor in price and precision.. I remember years and years ago when you could buy Jap cars (datsun, toyota and such for about half the price of an american car)then people found out that they lasted and were actually good cars , now look at the price.. Then I got to thinking about the old 2 cylinder compressor head sitting at my father in laws house and I am thinking about trying one of these for it ... HMMM!!! I just dont know.. I read comments by people that have bought China motors such as Central Machinery, Taija Hong, Duro Power and Supplygen Motors some say they are junk.. Some guys say I use it everyday and it works great ... Remember the dont buy a car that was built on Monday Morning or Friday night senario???? Well it was about a 50/50 like and dislike.. So anyway I ordered a central machinery motor for 249.00 11 hp elec start with a cast iron sleeve to put on my compressor head... I got the 2 year replacement warranty for an extra 34.00... I want to see for myself, I probably wont use the compressor much , but I have never owned a china motor... Even though the carb on my old Honda engine says Made in China on it... HMMM I'll let you know how it holds up... Buy the way the Honda I got off of the tiller works good on my machine it started and actually ran but its missing something awful, When the subaru robin comes in this old honda and my old honda will probably be taken apart to make one good honda I hope.. Oh by the way I am winning the long Block and its a genuine Honda http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&rd=1&item=290209923939&ssPageName=STRK:MEWA:IT&ih=019 notice the 3rd photo... only thing is it doesnt look to have the spot for the starter...

Hey Russ I ran the generator test and this is wht I got .. Ohm meter set at 200K ..... Motor not running... Between Q and N = 0.00 It hits 23.6 right off the bat and then rapidly falls to zero... Then between Q and G1=0.00 it hits 58.6 and rapidly falls to zero... I then started the motor .. Meter set to 200V, I get a reading of 5.6 volts AC from Qto N and a reading of 11.0V AC from Qto G1... Now as far as exciting th coils do I do this with the motor off or on, and if the motor is on won't I shock the crap out of myself ? Tommorrow I am going to have the arrmature on generator #3 tested just for the hell of it.. I have also contacted Winco about the problem with these generators and was told they are not recommended for commercial use... That brings me to this question ... Why the hell do they put them on high dollar whitco machines then ?????
