Interesting thread. I never thought of cleaning shopping carts. Anyone feel like giving me a PM what chems and the method you all are using? Or is that to much to ask?

Around here they get $1.25 - $1.50 each. Plus they want you to handle repairs such as replacing wheels and welding damages etc. Which also means keeping an inventory of wheels etc for many different kinds of carts. I think most do them just to get all the other stuff they need cleaned.

unfortunately..they paid 35 cents with average of 300 carts per location about 90.00 dollars evey 2-3 months average

an year ago we bid on shopping carts cleaning for local grocery chain. At 75 cents per piece, they thought its too expensive..

I've seen a company that repairs them during the night. They work with box trucks during the night full with repair parts and hot washer inside. They are dedicated to this service and the low price makes sense for them.

My kids always wanted to get in the kids shopping carts, the ones with a basket for groceries but had a big red plastic area for the kids to sit in or the had ones that looked like a car. I always told them NO, they are too dirty. These ones were always so disgusting. I mean you would actuallly see food and just filth on them. then about 2 years ago I got sick of seeing them so filthy I asked to see the manager and I was nice but told him how filthy they looked. He apoligized and said they cleaned them weekly and he would have workers spray them down a lot. I pretty much just said I wanted to make them aware of it.
About 2 months later after still seeing them looking disgusting and I mean disgusting I went to the manager again. I reminded him that I had spoken with him before and said I saw no change and it isnt right. I told him that mu kids are always asking to ride in them. I made it a piont to say how wrong that they have them for families to use.

Two weeks or so later and to this day I have never seen them at the store. They got rid of them

We clean shopping carts and we also clean and sanitize the children rides outside the stores as well.

To the guys in middle TN, what kind of pricing are you getting? None of you are in my market area so I won't be competing for your business.

We clean shopping carts in Miami as an add-on before big shopping holidays. Most all Fresh Markets and Whole Foods have the wipes, but some Publix are hit and miss. I'd like to see these in the near future.

Those are Great, some Markets even here in Phoenix have them. I'm really surprised we dont see more cleaning like this.

Innovative idea, big investment.
At least the chain stores are paying attention and realizing that they're liable when people get sick from their stores.

Im with you on that one...looks like that would take all day to push carts one by one into some giant trailer. Most stores can barely keep up with getting the carts out of the parking lot
