Whisper Wash Classic Issue?

I received the Whisper Wash Classic last week,..today I noticed what appear to be hair line stress cracks around some of the hardware,..the handle mounts that are screwed to the base and also one at the swivel. Anyone else have this issue? Very disappointed in the quality of the material used for the deck at this point. Gonna call Bob and see if anyone else has had this happen.

Don't know what happened to Whisper wash. There were several problems reported on the facebook groups, mostly swivels going bad almost immediately. Mine has had zero problems and I have easily cleaned over 400 driveways with them.

Thanks Guys,..maybe I got a dud,..but those stress cracks are troublesome at this point. Works very well though,Ha,Ha,..

Gonna take some more pictures for Bob and Whisper Wash,..but I'm tempted to just drill a couple relief holes at the edge of the cracks and add some aluminum backing plates or big washers to the underside and even a bigger plate on top. I hate sending stuff back.

I would send that back Jeff. I would be afraid of the cracks spreading. That looks like somebody over torqued those bolts. If there was an incompetent worker assembling your unit, there could be more surprises. I think Russ and Jason at KEC(or was it Paul Kassander???) said something to whisper wash because of all the complaints lately. Several swivels failed about 2 months ago.

Yea you're right Ralph,..I am planning on sending it back in all actuality,..just irritating is all. Like you,..I also think the bolts were over torqued,..there is also no backing plate or even simple washers on the back side of the mounting hardware,..which to me is a mistake.

Jeff

Usually those problems are the result of poor engineering and not the fault of the workers. The air tools are supposed to be adjusted to the proper torque and as jeff said "no backing plate or washers". That is definitely cutting corners on costs and poor engineering. Shame on whisper wash.

Yes, I have talked to Bob about it,..and I think he is in touch with Whisper Wash. Yea Ty..I will be returning it,...All I need is another deck and I'd be happy. I don't know how Whisper Wash operates,..but I hope they can send me the new deck before I have to return the other one,..sucks being without a SC for even a couple days when you're busy the way we are.

Ty, I hate those issues too!!!! It's time lost, money tied up and even worse - SHIPPING COSTS!!! I've ordered 2 WW surface cleaners from Russ Johnson at Southside Equipment and close to a ton of chemicals... NEVER AN ISSUE with any of the equipment and SUPERB customer service each and every time.

Yea,..Brad sounds like a good business man and and seems like an overall good guy. I will be sending them the old deck to look at.

*They are allowing me to keep the machine operating until I receive the new deck,..which was a surprise to me,..figured they would want the other one first. So yea,..kudos to Whisper Wash!
