when in use PW hose jerking around on hose reel.

WHen I use my powerwashers I always take the hose off the reel and hook it right up to the powerwasher. The reason is because the hose get all messed up on the hose reel when pressure is going thru it and then stopped. This causes the extra hose on the reel to jerk around and then when I'm finished I have to unroll any hose on the reel then roll up it all up.

I find it easier to just take whatever amount of hose I need off the hose reel and hook it up straight to the powerwasher. That way any unused hose thats left on the reel will stay neatly rolled up.

Even though I have that small hose that comes off each reel that is suppose to hook up from reel to powerwasher I never use this hose because I hook up like I said straight from the needed amount of hose on the hose reel.

How do others deal with this problem?

I unravel all of the hose on the reel every time I start the machine (200 feet on each machine).

On the rare occasion that I only need 50 or 100', I will unravel that amount, disconnect it from the rest of the hose on the reel, and hook it up directly to the washer. When doing this, the leftover hose on the reel is never affected.........I have never had to reroll the hose on the reel.............

clean county, mike is right if you leave any hose
on the reel it causes premature failure of it
double if you add heat it rubs it builds too much heat and if you have connectors at the 50 ft mark its hell on them. You should also roll out all your supply hose also so you dont get kinks in it and accidently starve the pump.
i re-read your post and see that you just use a reel as a holder if i were to just need a holder i would'nt even use a reel just mount two ladder brackets to the trailer[or whatever] about 4 ft apart and loop it around.
