What's up with ROOF WASHING?

I did my first roof last week. I agreed to do it because the pitch was walkable. Applied 12.5% with an x-jet with some soap for cling. I still had to hit the stains with some pressure as Ken said. I get the impression that most of the roof guys just apply and rinse. Is that true? I have had quite a few requests for roof work this year but I want to be sure of my methods before I start doing them and spend additional money for specialized equipment.
i too used the xjet to clean a roof today and i think it just cut sauce down too much. the pump system is definitely the way to go, you can control your mix.

Have you at least "stepped up" to larger hose, now that you have some experience in controlloing run off ?
The larger hose will help you right now, and still be great when you FINALLY get the Delevan :)

The solution IS the "solution", don't apply enough, and you will constantly be chasing spots you missed.
PLUS, get a good Sun Tan

Hey Chris,

Nope. Still running 3/8" hose. Next step is to get the mean green hose in a larger size.

Controlling runoff isn't too difficult with the little shurflo!! :D

Mike

NO NO NO - Do NOT get the Mean Green.
The hose will NOT hold up, at least if you do not rinse it out after each use.

We do NOT rinse our pumps and hose out, ever.

A LONG time ago, I set out to find a roof cleaning system that would not require rinsing.

Of course rinsing IS best, but if you have employees, they do not always rinse from job to job.

Solution ?

FIND stuff that will hold up.

Mean Green will NOT Hold Up

Too bad, it is THE easiest hose to use, bar NONE.

Perhaps IF you rinse , but I still feel you are doomed using it.

The material has a D rating for SH use, not good!

Mean Green is refunding ALL our money!

GOOD People :)

Too bad, oh well, another dead end

Too bad about the mean green hose. Looked very promising.

Thanks!

Goodyear Pliovic or however youu spell it is what we are using now.
I think AG hose lasts a BIT longer, but is more expensive.

Ok. Is this hose listed in the Pressure Tek store? I didn't see it.

Thanks,

Mike

No, you have to call him.
The secret password is "pony".
