Active monitoring, sec cams can be viewed from I phones with proximity sensors..just depends how deep down the rabbit hole you wanna go. .dogs and guns.. plus nice nosy neighbors are the cheapest most effective. .gotta train the dog and gun handler.. good luck on the neighbor.

2 German Shepherds, Cameras, and Guns. Don't need no stink'in security company! I trained the dogs, I installed the cameras & video system, and I been shooting guns since I was old enough. Want some, come get some!

Depends on what your looking for..When your there a lot you want something that when activated is going to call central station which will send then contact Police..There"s monthly fees and the most elaborate system is only as good as who is monitoring it..
Or if you not there so much but want to keep a check on things then the "personalized" video surveillance systems that are activated by motion sensors are pretty reasonable and send messages to your phone and email when your not there are the way to go..
