What is you’re favorite BBS? Professional opinions please.

The opinion of whose site is the best is not what I’m asking. The graphs below that rate these sites are accurate and tell the tale.


What I’m looking for are the opinions of what you yourself like about a particular site.

We don’t need to make this a personal attack I’m just looking for some educations and marketing to find out why some sites do better than others while some have and appearance of being larger they may not be.


So why do you go to a particular BBS? And most important why do you go?


Hears a quick list of reasons I might travel to a certain bbs.

1. The content is better.
2. the members are smarter
3. Less gossip.
4. more education
5. People more willing to help and share.
6. Affiliated with organizations.


These are a couple and I’m sure you guys will make many others. Please no arguing about who’s the best. It’s not worth it, many have different things to offer and have there own values. I would simply like to know your professional opinion.

My favorite board is this one,it has the most active kitchen exhaust cleaning threads.My second favorite(but not too far behind) is the old Delco board,I have been following that board for years,and third would be PWNA board,very knowledgeable members,and although a fairly new board I think it is run very professionally and friendly.I actually would rate all these as just about a tie,but since you are looking for our personal rankings that would be mine.I follow the other bbs's but not as much as these three,just my personal preference,and lack of time.I don't mean to offend anyone I know it takes alot of uncompensated time to set up and run these boards,I think they all are good these three are the ones I look at daily.

Hello Ron,

My brouser calls them Favorites but I really don't have just one. I visit them when I have time based on how there listed on my list. I click on New Posts. If I'm interested I visit the threads that catch my interest.

I seldom start a thread on any board. I revisit a thread when I receive email notice that someone else has posted to a thread that I have posted a comment on.

All can have very interesting information.

I really appreciate the answers Dave and Jim. I was really wondering what really attracts you to a certain BBS. Mentioning the names is not really important, I was kind of wondering the difference and what differences made them better or worse.


Jim, you said that certain ones had more knowledgeable members and I think you’re correct. PWNA bbs should have more accredited members participating.

I don't have just one either, though I like different board for different things. I mainly look at all the boards and dare say I primarily am interested in just the wood areas. I get great info from this board as with a few others. Am constantly learning from all of them.

I really hate to see deckguide go under, some one buy it.

I like this one by far! I like this board because it seems to be for the contractors. I feel, like I can comment on equipment and chemicals that work good for me (personal experience) without offending anyone. I don't feel pressure to say good things about certain products or not say anything at all. I think the history of this board represents the contractors, not the suppliers, etc.

I do like the creativity on Beth's board, the set-up is pretty cool. Her board appears to reach out to a larger market (different service industries). I'm just grateful that there are a bunch of boards to learn and contribute too.

THEY ARE ALL INTERESTING BOARDS,WHEN YOU ARE ON A FACT FINDING MISSION. THEY BECOME GREAT WHEN ONE OR MORE GUYS ARE TRYING TO HELP A FELLOW CLEANING CONTRACTOR BY FREELY SHARING THEIR KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERIENCE .GUYS LIKE EVERTT ABRAMS. SEE SOME OF YOU IN TEXAS. DAN (MARRIGE AT ANY AGE CAN BE GREAT) COSGROVE.

Whats your opinion?


Why does it appear that nobody wants to state which board is there favorite. I like several boards, but I have a favorite.
