What is the best hose to use.

Needing to replace some of my hoses and thought I would ask. Has anyone used Hydraulic hoses rather then pressure washer hose? What hose do you consider the best for your money? Non-marking is not an issue as I use them in hog barns.

Right now I'm getting all of my hose from Northern Tool

You will get better quality and prices from vendors on this site that post here.

If you decide on trying hydraulic hoses, I would make sure that they can handle the heat of your machine if you use a hot water skid and make sure that they have the pressure rating you need for your machine.

I know of a local shop that sells hydraulic hoses as pressure washing hoses but not for very high temperatures from what I recall.

We use two wire non marking hose 4000 psi they last for at least a year and sometime two years. I brought hose once from Northern Tool and they were not good hoses only lasted for about two months. We wash every week so for my money I use the first hose that I mention. Never used hydraulic hose I would not feel confident they would last because of the heat.

Hydrolic hoses do not hold up as well as the pressure hose, the material makeup and heat ratings ar not usually as high. Pressure hose is usually less expensive too as so much is purchased in bulk.

I think you will have better value with spec pressure hose, saw a video last week testing a pressure washer hose for a distributor, I was impressed there crimps held to almost 3 times the rated pressure, the hose burst at 11,000 psi

Nigel good morning. Isn't a 4x safety factor standard? Post a link, always like to see something explode.

Goodyear Neptune

We get the best feed-back on the Goodyear Neptune hoses. They have a smooth cover so they don't catch on stuff when moving and stay very flexible while also holding up very well. Watch your PSI rating and buy accordingly. Also, the higher you run your temps., the shorter ANY hose will last. Typical heat setting is 180 F to 210 F. Cranking the heat will wear on the hoses and get them to blow ends faster.
