Has anyone purched one of the shop vacs at home depot or lowes, not sure which one, with the pump out feature to garden hose? I believe the brand is shop vac contractor series. Just wondering. Thinking of trying one out.
We have several of the shopvac with the pump-out. It has one major flaw...the hose fitting is plastic, and snaps off if you look at it hard. Other than that, it works fine.
Keith,
I saw somewhere that you are using hot water. Here is a small point that you may never get to, but is worth considering.
I use the vacuboom system and the vacuum tank is plastic. If I recover my water to fast, such as you may do in hood cleaning, then the bucket gets soft from the hot water and starts to collapse. I had to get a metal one to stop this. So if you are buying a new vacuum, then I say that metal is the way to go.
You can also add a sump pump to any vacuum, so their is another idea to look at.
Keith, We use 20 gal. Commercial Shop Vacs. Blue and gray in color. Ive paver from 110.00 to 149.00 per. Depending on the store. We used to use SS ones from Graingers , 20 gal. also. Same motors. I finally figured we could buy 4 ShopVac brand to 1 Grainger brand. We customize the hose fitting to fit a 1 1/2" commercial hose and metal wand. And we use the drain on the bottom. But the wheels are the weak link. I end up replacing those little front casters soon after beginning service. No problem with them collapsing from hot water. Always clean inside and out after use to keep them from getting stanky.
