My name is George C. Joseph. I am the sole owner of Sunshine Dodge-Isuzu, a family owned and operated business in Melbourne , Florida .
My family bought and paid for this automobile franchise 35 years ago in 1974. I am the second generation to manage this business.

We currently employ 50+ people and before the economic slowdown we employed over 70 local people. We are active in the community and the local chamber of commerce. We deal with several dozen local vendors on a day to day basis and many more during a month. All depend on our business for part of their livelihood. We are financially strong with great respect in the market place and community. We have strong local presence and stability.

I work every day the store is open, nine to ten hours a day. I know most of our customers and all our employees. Sunshine Dodge is my life.

On Thursday, May 14, 2009 I was notified that my Dodge franchise, that we purchased, will be taken away from my family on June 9, 2009 without compensation and given to another dealer at no cost to them. My new vehicle inventory consists of 125 vehicles with a financed balance of 3 million dollars. This inventory becomes impossible to sell with no factory incentives beyond June 9, 2009. Without the Dodge franchise we can no longer sell a new Dodge as "new," nor will we be able to do any warranty service work. Additionally, my Dodge parts inventory, (approximately $300,000.) is virtually worthless without the ability to perform warranty service. There is no offer from Chrysler to buy back the vehicles or parts inventory.

Our facility was recently totally renovated at Chrysler's insistence, incurring a multi-million dollar debt in the form of a mortgage at Sun Trust Bank.

HOW IN THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA CAN THIS HAPPEN?

THIS IS A PRIVATE BUSINESS NOT A GOVERNMENT ENTITY

This is beyond imagination! My business is being stolen from me through NO FAULT OF OUR OWN. We did NOTHING wrong.

This atrocity will most likely force my family into bankruptcy. This will also cause our 50+ employees to be unemployed. How will they provide for their families? This is a total economic disaster.

HOW CAN THIS HAPPEN IN A FREE MARKET ECONOMY IN THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA ?

I have no reason to doubt it. Rodgers Dodge, a dealer right down the road from me, just closed its doors under the same circumstances. I went the night it was closing and spoke to the president of the company and got almost the identical story.

Its a tragedy that we are LETTING this happen. It CAN be stopped. I guess its just to tough or pollitically incorrect to tell a black president he is a ******* idiot and is systematically destroying our country.
 
You never know these days what is true out there and what is almost true or made up. Snopes.com is a good way to wade through some of the stuff out there but still you just never know.

If it is true, that is very sad, that will ruin the lives of many people there and cause even more of a financial crisis in that community.
 
The same thing has happened to 4 Dodge dealers in the Tampa Bay area, what do you mean is it true. Look around you everywhere you go places are closing by the dozen.

Shopping centers are empty with half the center unleaseable? When they take over the car industry and the health care system and the banking system, which by the way is already happening, whats left.
 
 
Who thought he was going to be good for the country? Now he owns the car industry, except FORD. He owns wall street, the banks, and soon our souls. Do you want your doctor to be a government employee? Health care reform. I am paying SS taxes that I know I will never see. I am paying medicare, hoping I will never need. What happened to being independant?
 
Think of all the other little guys getting screwed because CEO's got bonused for poor performance. All those factory workers and retiries no longer have income or benefits. The government can only provide based on tax dollars. If americans are not working uncle sam is going to be in for a rude awakining. One that speaks another language.

** Using the list of all 789 dealerships to be closed, WND found that owners contributed $450,000 to GOP presidential candidates; $7,970 to Sen. Hillary Clinton; $2,200 to John Edwards and $450 to Barack Obama.

I was watching a Senate debate the other day and they really are doing this to dealers. GM is doing to the same thing but at a later date and giving them a little more time. This is really sad for America period. Pretty soon they are taking our tax cuts away from having employees also..... WE NEED A REVOLUTION!!!!!!!!!!!!
 
just remember its over in September ( recession )
yup the same people that did not see it coming can tell us when it'll end. go figure.
