Wax build up inside a car wash

Hello Pressure Gurus,

I am cleaning the inside of a drive thru car wash. The wax build up is heavy on the wall. I sprayed a degreaser and let it dwell. Then hit it with a 15 degree tip at 200 degrees.

It took me 10 minutes to make a difference in one cinder block!!

The cinder block walls are painted with a fiberglass paint. My question is, WHAT CHEMICAL WILL CUT THIS WAX? I assumed (wrongly) that good old hot water would melt away the wax. If you have any insights or experience in this area, please chime in.

Thanks,

Scott:confused:

Gotta tell ya...good ol' HF will cut through it. BE CAREFUL!

Russ,

Pardon my ignorance. What is HF?

Thanks for the reply.

Hydrofluoric Acid, mainly found in different concentrations in Aluminum Brighteners. It is a vicious, dangerous acid if handled improperly, but not much else cleans like it in certain circumstances. I have safety information on my computer at work... will post it Monday morning for you, unless someone else has it handy and can post a follow up.

Not sure how old this thread is but I came across it. Try Johnson Fastrip
