water in my oil , damn !

hi there

Check these pics and tell me if that's still water in my oil, I did change the oil a couple of times, and sent a few quarts through the pump to make sure all the water was out of the pump, but still showing.

Do I have to rebuild it? get a new one?

If any vendor can quote me on a kit I'd appreciate it, I'm not the best working with engines, but maybe this is something I can do myself.:banghead:

Thanks in advance

Im no expert either but looks like water is mixed in with your oil from the pic

Looks fine to me. Think the yellow in the sight glass is discoloring the oil

Nah, that oil is pretty and green. No water there. Still need a price on kits?

A one gal zip lock bag works pretty good, slide it under the drain plug and drain away.

Thanks to all posts for the suggestions

Russ, it doesn't hurt, I'm gonna need one sooner or later. Does this thing in Libya affects the price ? :)

I'm watching Larry Hinckley on youtube right now working on a General Pump, does it vary much to an Ar pump on the rebuilding ?

Thanks again

There's not a lot of difference in the layout of the components. I'll get prices for you tomorrow.

How's this tube extension called, used to plug in your oil drain to make it easier to change the oil ? I always make a mess :)

Do you sell those Russ ?

Yep. Get with you on that tomorrow, too.

Were it me, I'd not order anything right now. If and when you have a failure, the parts can be next day shipped to you at an extra expense, but is it worth tying up over $300.00 "in case something happens"? If you're going to buy now, I'd get all three. If you've only got seals and valves and the pump fails and you find you need pistons too, it wasn't worth having parts on standby to begin with.

Good, honest, smart advice from a Vendor that actually eliminates a sale today, but virtually guarantees future sales.

Wow. I think I went back in time to the 50's

I haven't seen green oil before.
Looks like the wrong stuff to me.
And I have seen oil that turned white with no water in it.
Most of the time white oil means Detergent type oil and not water.
I use a paste that turns red if water is found in the oil.
Very handy stuff.

I agree the oil I see in the glass looks fine but it would be best to pull the dipstick to see it it is milky. Sometimes the oil in the sight glass can get trapped and give you a false impression of both the oil level or if there is water in the oil.
