Water Filter

Thats a great idea however is that where you leave your gas tank when your running that pretty new kohlor?I have a filter before the tank and after we have a lot of wells around here.Good idea.

I just use the regular mesh screen filters.

I just had the packings replaced earlier this year in the Hotsy, 7 years then needed packings so I think that I had good luck.

I have used water from wells and most of the dirt/sediment drops out into the bottom of the tank so once a year I use a shop vac and vacuum out the bottom of the water tank.

I purchased the engine from envirospec, around 1,100 delivered. Then I put a udor pump on it. Also put a tiny tach on it, so I can make sure Im at about 2700rpm. I know from using my pressure gauge and adjusting everything, that anything above 2700rpm just sucks up more gas.

That is a very clean area, is that in an enclosed trailer or box truck?

Is the pump direct drive or gear drive?

I am guessing you got the engine baseplate from espec also?

Thanks.

I like the set up kohlors are great but for just to be on the safe side i would get that gas tank away from the muffler.Thats just a suggestion though its your washer and stuff.

I think his setup is safe enough. Think about it the 13hp honda's and clones have the fuel tank sitting on the motor. I love how compact that setup is. Let us know how reliable it is. I am a huge believer in the superior reliability of belt drive. That being said I am currently back to running a gear reduction setup. :(

direct-mounting an engine makes a loud-speaker of your trailer.

When you get tired of your SCG shaking the heck into the walls of your trailer..
try using the rubber "vibration isolators" shown here..

vibration isolator.JPG

.. the difference is the double-stack of flat washers with THICK o-rings between..
this gives you "up" and down vibration isolation,
when added to a rubber donut under the frame.

and..
Good idea on the pre-filter before the tank,
..but you still need a filter between the tank, and pump.
downtime is WAY more expensive that a screen-filter..
We like the blue-top with the big, stainless screen..

Lastly..
radiant heat, fuel expansion, enclosed trailer = explosive fumes..
.. yea, farther away is better on that fuel cell. Eh?

Thats why mine are before the Tank....LOL

Its a great thing, been using them for a long time. This will reduce DI use when water if soft enough not to use DI. They are also very inexpensive.

yea, it seems like a filter like that would put alot of stress on that pump. I have a filter. I think its either 50 or 80. Cant remember

I knew about the rubber under the frame but never thought about the rubber gaskets between the washers, that is a good idea Jerry.

Thanks.
