Guys bbs accept code and docs from the members. People can plant virus in that code that can infect you.

We do everything we can to protect you.

If you see a post that gives you a warning pls tell us. We can have admins remove and make sure our code is clean.

Scott called me just yesterday because the bbs was moving slow. We had a bug and it was removed.

This happens and actually it's not preventable because if a members want to be malicious we can on react when we know.

Php code is not secure. Hackers do this stuff for fun.

Keep a watch this is our house

If you use Norton avast or Baracudda the waring will be a maicous tool kit app that will pop up as you enter the site. I tried to bring this issue up over at the grime scene and rather than fix it I was told that it was due to me looking at porn sites, at least here your being proactive
 
I see people on other boards downloading and/or sharing cracked versions of software. You never know what people inject into these things. Before you run any kind of file you can scan it at virustotal.com
 
I just signed on to TGS from my wifes office not 30 minutes ago and a Virus Threat window popped off. I immediately got out of it.

..Let me guess malicous tool kit attchment... Go complain there I started a thread they blew the issue off ,said it was due to me looking at porn and then deleted the thread.
 
I mentioned it in another thread and, was told the issue was with my system, it also happens on Truck Mount Forums too.

It does not happen everytime you sign on TGS but Norton blocks the tool kit. Its got to be something that these bbs are venerable too.

This has happened to me many times over the past couple months.

I close the window and download the norton updates and scan my computer just in case.

My computer checks out ok each time so nothing from TGS got on my computer thank goodness.

There seems to be many people having the same issue.
 
We take concerns about viruses and malicious scripts very seriously here on TGS. Below is a copy of a conversation that I had just yesterday with our hosting company. As you can see, they believe the site is clean but for future help there are things we require in order to be able to address with accuracy the needs and concerns of our users here on TGS. Please remember that if you encounter ANY problems, we need certain things to provide to our host so they may due their work more accurately. Thank you. Beth

A scan of that link as well as the contents of your site have revealed nothing on my end as well (using NOD32, McAfee and Norton scanners).
If possible, please have your users forward screenshots as well as the full URL the next time they see the warning.

Its a hacker changing code on pwi. It's giving people who log on a pop up message. It happen yesterday

Over the years it always been hackers not actual virus

The TGS virus is a malicious tool kit application there is 2 versions of it version 7 and version 9 both pop in Norton and Barracuda, Avast blocks the site.

Just a FYI DO NOT cut and paste the virus site Here to show people what it is it will effect the site on search engines since it is a known threat google will automaticly drop the site from searches.

I gave them the link you gave me. There IS NO VIRUS. Read the report from our host.
We're clean. And anyone who can provide a links AND a screenshot I'll forward to the host.

Russ, did you mean the "This site may harm your computer" warning from Google ?
I have never seen that warning for TGS or PWI before, but I have seen it for other VBulletin Powered Forums.
Generally, VBulletin is a favorite target of Virus planters, because of it's popularity.

I switched to Firefox from Explorer, and that helped stop virus pickup. I run Google Chrome now, and that has helped even more.
 
Chris it's hackers actually changing code, it's really nothing new. It's happened from the day we opened.

More than likely will continue for ever

The reason I asked people to watch is I never see it from my apple products.

I have been coming to both TGS and PWI for years, NEVER got a virus, ever.
I run PC Tools free anti virus and also have Avast Free installed, just not running (it slows computer down too much)
PC Tools is fast, and effective, plus, it is free.
About once every 2 weeks, I also scan with Avast, just to pick up what PC Tools might have missed.
Running Google Chrome really cut down on virus pick up for me.
I feel safe here on PWI, and TGS from virus, as well as on my own forum.
Most Virus are aimed at Explorer, or Firefox, not Chrome.

That's impossible that tgs could have that because it's a website on the www.

Wow, I just made a post on The Grime Scene in this roof cleaning thread and neither of my 2 virus programs detected anything. One of my Virus Programs is Avast Free, but I am running Google Chrome. What Browser are you using Alexy ?
